The chicken is great - as are the empanadas. Some of the side dishes...not so much. Server was attentive.

We ate at Taste of Peru today for the first time. Although there are not a lot of entree options, the food is delicious. We spent a month this summer in Peru and found the food here to be similar to what we experienced traveling. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant is neat and clean inside, but definitely not anything fancy. We tried the Lomo Saltado, Aji de Gallina and the roast chicken. All were great. The dessert special, picarones, was amazing. They serve some traditional Peruvian drinks, including Inka Kola, our kids' favorite. We will definitely return.

Went with a friend and her mother, we are all foodies. We live in Albuquerque. This is excellent Peruvian food. We tried all the appetizers and specialties on the menu. It is a small restaurant. The husband is the chef and the wife does everything else. I believe he is from Peru. Excellent food. The tastes were wonderful. The only item that was so so was the salad. It just had lemon juice on it for a dressing. But according to the chef that is how it is served in Peru.

I met with friends today to have a farewell lunch before one of them moves to Peru for two years; she has lived there before, too, when her children were younger. We sampled all the special beverages and a couple of the appetizers before all three ordering the lunch special: 1/4 peruvian rotisserie chicken, side, 20 oz. drink for $7.50. Everything was tasty and its authenticity was validated by my lunchmate.

The restaurant was doing good business! I will be returning.
