“Plentiful Seafood But Much More”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

We just ate in this newly opened restaurant. They have a large seafood selection and the dishes we had were terrific and refreshing. We had a mixed ceviche which was overflowing with pure fresh lime juice and a shrimp enchilada verde which was very light. The attraction to us but they had the usual New Mexican fare as well along with a selection of bear. We hope this restaurant continues to do well as we look forward to returning.

“Fresh made everything yummy”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Had lunch here 2 of the 3 days we were in Albuquerque because it was so delicious. The sopapilla bits are like little bites of beignets with cinnamon, sugar and honey. The owner really cares about his food and community. Loved the taco bowl, enchiladas, guacamole and homemade chips, and chili. Outside patio to sit on in the sunshine too.

“Down to Earth Honest to Goodness Mexican Food”
Reviewed March 27, 2010

Miss the flavor of real corn tortillas, real asadero cheese, and fresh refried beans & rice at places like Gardunos & Los Cuates? Me, too! El Sarape has the best queso fundido in ABQ. The prices are very reasonable. Service was fast & consistent, food was served hot and the bathrooms were clean!! One of my faves!

“The best in New Mexico”
Reviewed October 4, 2007

The food at El Sarape was excellent and much better that Puerta Vallarta or Cancun. I loved the Shrimp Coctkail and the salsa was out of this world. It was served with home made chips not the store bought ones.
