“Quick, good, and inexpensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

We ate here for lunch and were impressed with the large, tasty portions. The service was fast and the seats were plentiful. The cost for our group ranged from $5 to $8. The variety of choices was overwhelming so we asked the locals in line for recommendations. Basically anything you order will be good.

“Good food, low prices, unusual ambience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

Right across the street from UNM on the old Rt. 66 (Central Ave.) Unusual ambience with all the artwork on the walls, bronze sculptures in the room and a service model I've never quite seen. You queue up in a long line which only takes 5 to 7 min. from the door. As you reach the front of the line, you look at the wide counter of many cashiers and registers. Move to the one which green light comes on. They take your order, give you your beverages and a number. Watch the monitors for your number to come up, then go pick up your food. Watch the tortillas being made behind the counter where you get your food. Staff busses the tables. Was a solidly good meal with very good prices. Must try the cinnamon rolls next time since the breakfast burrito was filling enough. Loved it.

“Good food in a basic setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

I had a quick stop in ABQ and found Frontier in a search on Trip Advisor. It's got interesting decorations, if a bit kitschy, and it's clean and efficient. More importantly, the food is great New Mexican cuisine. I had carne adovado here (my first) and it may have been the best I had, and I had it at several other places while I was in NM. No wonder that it seems to be popular among locals.

“Green chile enchiladas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

So good. Comes with an oversized flour tortilla and a huge serving of delicious enchiladas.

The chips and salsa are so so good.

And the cinnamon rolls, oh my gosh. The cinnamon rolls. A must try. Buttery goodness.

“A down home place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Suits at one table and homeless folks at the next. This is all part of the Frontier experience. The food is excellent - for me, breakfast is the best. It's nothing fancy but a good place to eat and people watch. This is an Albuquerque institution and enjoy the experience. If you want something more upscale, don't eat here.
