“It's just okay.”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

I was visiting ABQ and was told we HAD to try this "awesome" restaurant. The awesomeness escaped us. I had a decent hamburger and fries that was no better or worse than any other hamburger and fries I've had in many other diners across the country. There was nothing special about the food or the ambiance. (Definitely NOT worth dealing with the crazy parking situation.) I will say that the ordering process though hectic, was quite well organized and ran smoothly.

“Land Mark”

Very popular locally, I like to come here to people watch, I f you're going out to eat i'd say try somewhere else. For example; being how popular this place is its brought in some of the tv shows from the travel channel. NONE of which had any thing uneque to mention. Ask any one about the place and thell say" green chile" which is enouph for a new mexican to anything 5 stars.

“An Albuquerque icon not to be missed”
Reviewed October 6, 2012 via mobile

The place is filled with charm and character. The menu is filled with great tastes of New Mexican cuisine. Housemade tortillas, fresh brewed tea, and green chile stew with just the right amount of kick are all excellent. If you like guacamole, theirs is great...plenty of onion flavor without big chunks of raw onion. You cannot beat the price or quality of the food at The Frontier!

“Great Food, Killer Prices, The Best Tortillas on Earth”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

We found this wonderful local restaurant when we asked the clerk at the rental car company at the Albuquerque airport to recommend a good place for lunch. He promised we'd love Frontier, and he was absolutely right. It's right across the street from the University of New Mexico, and it serves primarily Mexican food but also some hamburgers and that kind of stuff. But you don't go there for burgers---although they look delicious----you go there for Mexican food. The restaurant is built for speed and big crowds, and it has a large menu and quick service. The food we had is probably the best Mexican food we've had in decades---the green chile stew was out of this world, the beef tacos unforgettable, but the tortillas, that's what we'll go back for. They're thick and light and served warm, and they're easily the best we've ever had. If you're in Albuquerque and you're looking for great Mexican food at a great price, you've GOT to eat here---and you've GOT to have their flour tortillas!
