“Stuffed Sopapillas are amazingly good”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

Check the hours - Mary is getting up there and they close at 6:00pm on weekdays, 8:00 weekends. Very limited hours so check before you go. Regardless, the carne adovada and stuffed sopapillas are the main attraction here and this is what you must order to get the best of the experience.

“Wow! What a find!”
Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

Found this place on yelp with good reviews! Wow! Talk about unique mexican food. I recommend the sopapilla and the mexican pizza. The free chips and salsa are delicious. And to top it all off the service is very kind and attentive. The server always refilled my water and brought the food in about 10 minutes. Mary was there sucking on a lollipop at the counter which added something special to our visit!

“Very good food.”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

The food and service were both very good. I ordered the Monday special which was the Large Combination Plate for $6.00. This included a beef taco, enchilada, chili relleno, beans and rice, one flour tortilla, with the first three covered with red and green chili sauce (my choice). Nicely medium spice (heat) plus the dish was served very hot, both of which really hit the spot. The relleno was as good as I have had anywhere, the taco was better than average and the enchilada was one of the best I have had. Usually, I don't care for enchiladas because they are generally mostly tortilla. Theirs was crispy and delicious even though coated in sauce. Each sauce was excellent, too, and they served both without hesitation.
It is a hole-in-the-wall, as many described and the parking is limited. It could be cleaner -- based on the broom, which was clogged with thick debris yet used to sweep a booth bench seat -- and a few other areas, so I dropped the rating one notch to very good. A good value, but I have a feeling, based on the cleanliness of the front end, that if I saw the kitchen I couldn't eat there. So, I will never ask to go there; and will just enjoy the food and service.

“OMG! Score!”
Reviewed November 30, 2012 via mobile

Bring your appetite! The food is amazing, authentic and the only restaurant in Albuquerque to win the prestiges James Beard award. We ate for less than $25 and have enough left over for dinner. You can't miss it.

“Good little hole in the wall”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

Very good "New Mexican" style food which utilizes red and green chile sauce. Lots of seats but not much parking. Some parking in the back and some in front on the street.
