vacationing in albuquerque and happened along this restaurant by accident. the food was extraordinary and so delicious! the prices were very reasonable. the wait staff and cooks were really friendly and fast.
we were fortunate to get a table and i hope that this establishment is able to move into a larger place one day. i have no doubt whatsoever that they would pack any size restaurant.

“Even Better On The Second Visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

This was our second time to eat at Taqueria Mexicano. So we tried different items this time. Pork tamales and carnitas tacos. They were both just great. It was busy as usual but we got a seat. The food was very reasonably priced, was hot, was served timely, and with very friendly wait staff. We highly recommend this little surprise restaurant !

“Great Place For Great Food !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2012

This one was a bit of good luck. Looked it up.... saw the ratings and tried it. There was a bit of a wait as it was lunch time, but it was very much worth the wait. The staff was very friendly and very fast. But it was the food that was the best part. We had carnitas tacos and a burrito. They were both absolutely the best we have ever eaten.
A truly wonderful experience. We are going back through Albuquerque this summer and plan to eat there again.

“True Mexico, with red or green.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

This Taqueria is small, with few tables, but big on selections, taste, service and best of all it offers true "Mexican" food with the New Mexico option of "red or green". The food is always freshly made. The service is always perfect. There WILL be a big line during lunch since it is so good and so close to downtown and the hospitals, so go early or late. I have never been disappointed here. My favs are the Caldero Cameron (shrimp soup), Carnitas, (pork) and Asada, (beef), but everything is awesome and there is a lot to choose from, including traditional Lengua and Barbacoa. The masa on their tamales is perfect, puffy and lite, just like in Mexico. Mmmmmm.

“Too good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2012

The best tacos you'll find for thus price. Speedy, friendly service... but expect to wait if you want a table. We like to walk up and order at the window so we can watch the kitchen work.
