“No secrete to Albuquerque”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

It seems that everyone in the Albuquerque area knows about this long-time favorite but it would be very easy to miss for someone new to the city. The restaurant is in what looks like a re-done Denny's---so no atmosphere. The food is wonderful. A wide variety from home cooking comfort food to more exotic dishes. The Range serves wine and beer also--and has a nice selection. The restaurant isn't cheap--as a solo buying dinner and wine it was about $30. It is definitely worth it.

“Large Portions with Great Taste”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

We skipped our hotel breakfast to eat at the Range. The huevos rancheros can't be beat. We especially like green chili and theirs is one of the best. Excellent wait staff with helpful suggestions.

“always good”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

The Range advertises itself as serving common food, uncommonly good. I'd say that is true. The menu is not especially creative, but what they do, they do very well. We have only tried the Bernalillo location, not the Albuquerque site.

“"Home" on The Range”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

This cafe-style eatery serves its fare in a revitalized "large chain" restaurant building in the Menaul/University Ave. area; it's a place some can enjoy don't-care-about-calories home cookin'. Service was fast (maybe saw the 3 of us coming), the taste was rich, a little heavy on sodium, but generous. By Albuquerque-levels, well, it's moderately listed. Apparently there's beer 'n wine, but not for us during lunch-time. It's a bit "homey" in decor, lacking in "Mexican Kitsch", and if that's what you're seeking, taste the biscuits 'n gravy. It's generously portioned food, clean atmosphere, and good service...reminded us of west Texas... a little.

“Good variety, resh, local ingredients”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

An Albuquerque mainstay, "the Star"'s food is always tasty. BeSt known for their pastries, but solid for any meal. Uses local ingredients. Great sandwiches and healthy salads. Skip their fries. Can be a bit pricey for an "order at the counter" cafe.
