Traveling with a girl friend and asked at the hotel for a good New Mexico Mexican restaurant. This was the one she suggested and it was wonderfully close to our
hotel (and the airport) too. We walked in and a beautiful glow and ambience. Still decorated for Christmas, we were told to sit where we wanted. We chose a comfy booth. Our young waiter was both attentive and pleasant. I ordered a margarita on the rocks (with salt on the rim) excellent and friend ordered iced tea which were served promptly along with 4 sopapillas (and honey) which comes, apparently, with all orders.
I usually never eat the sopapillas but these were hot and simply luscious and perfectly prepared. We both ordered the ground beef rolled enchiladas with green & red sauce (which we both ordered on the side). The food was excellent, plentiful but not so much that you want to box some of it up and take it home. We enjoyed our visit and the waiter offered to give us split checks. I was surprised at this because the web site says 'no split checks.' He was a doll and we tipped him generously. I would definitely come here again when passing through Albuquerque. It was incredibly reasonably; my dinner & margarita was about 15!!!
