“If this was a indian restaurant in india, it would NOT survive for even 1/2 day.”

Ordered aloo paratha (think of it similar to a potato filled tortilla), what I got was a non cooked naan ( google it) with a layer of nothing. Paratha and naan are 2 completely different items and any 4 yr old kid from india knows that but not at this restaurant.

Ordered chicken biryani: (google this too). Firstly no one makes this without basmati rice (which is clearly not what they use) and second they produce a dish similar to a rice plus curry mixed dish.....totally done wrong.

Ordered chicken jalfrezi: I have to continue to be honest here. This dish did turn out like it should if you google this so cant fault there.

Bottom line: any restaurant can tone down the spice level to suit the majority of its customers which is perfectly fine but to change the fundamental product itself is plain wrong.

“Pretty good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

The only reason I didn't rate this place higher is the atmosphere, the place is a bit dark and showing its age. The food though was very good. I think I have tried every Indian Food place in town, and this is my second favorite. I will say that when this one says the food is hot, it is. Which was a pleasant surprise. Too many of the others temper it back for western tastebuds,

“The best Indian in town!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

I have eaten Indian food all over the US, and can confidently say that Taj Mahal Cuisine of India is one of the best anywhere. I realize one might not expect the best Indian food in Albuquerque, but here it is for those of us that are ready for a break from the SW fare. Wonder atmosphere, and service, and wonderful food have kept me coming back for more than 15 years. Bring a friend, you won't be sorry!

“Not a bad place to eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

although the Indian food is not the same as you would get if you were in India, it is still a prity good place to try. I have been to India on several occations and the food in India is great but when you get outside of India they try to Americanize it which takes away from the real flavors that make real Indian food worth eating.

“Calming atmosphere, delicious food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

Taj Mahal Cuisine of India can always be counted on for the tastiest East Indian food in Albuquerque. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is quiet and tranquil. It is a great place to gather with a few friends or meet as a large group.
