Our family has been going to El Pinto since we moved to Albuquerque in the '70's. It has been the site of many family dinners, birthday dinners, graduation dinners -- and was the perfect choice for our 50th anniversary celebration for our parents. It has grown and changed over the years but is still a must stop for our family on visits to Albuquerque.

The restaurant is located in a beautiful area. There are a number of large rooms for seating. The out door area is charming. The food is good, but pricey. Love all the pictures of famous people who have eaten there. We have eaten there at least five times, and would go back again

Monday is the best day to go for the buffet. Fresh cups of guacamole and chile con queso are on the table. You can also get made to order chile rellenos! We all enjoyed our meals...from the taco bar to the posole. Our server was fantastic and on the ball with drink refills.

The atmosphere in the north valley is unbeatable. Perhaps a good place to take tourists that want a visual experience and know nothing about quality New Mexican food and are accustomed to paying to much for a less than average meal. Perhaps the nachos are still good, but the chile is flavorless with no heat and then overall experience is not as tasty as an El PAtio TV dinner. Service is not amazing either.
