“Nice retreat from the heat!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

We found this quaint little cafe in the back streets of Albuquerque, NM and were relieved to sit down somewhere cool to have an enjoyable lunch and good coffee. Great staff, nice menu and well presented food.

“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

We were 9 days into Route 66 and so had already seen a few restaurants so far. This was clearly the best yet.
There was a choice of sitting out by the street, inside or out in a private patio at the back.
Service was fast and attentive. Our waitress was keen to explain the dishes and modify them at our request. Good selection of wines and beers, including some great local brews.
The menu is almost entirely New Mexican. Food quality was excellent. Live entertainment was provided by a guy on the Spanish guitar.

“Nice restaurant, good food, excellent service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

Every bus driver and hotel staff says to go here. The food was good, the service excellent. It seemed a bit high priced. The portions were large. The decor was so interesting. We loved the stove.

“Lunch with dear friend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

I was treated to lunch with a dear friend that lives in town. we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and the service was wonderful...our waiter was very attentive and we had a very leisurely time.
So much to choose from on the menu....a nice place to stop for a bite.
It had been raining so we did not get a chance to sit out on the patio...very unusual...but it was fun..

“Good food, nice location. Requires patience for service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

Choose this as the dinner choice because of trip advisor ratings for Old Town options. The courtyard was a nice place to eat. Overall the place looked cool and has a lot of history. My group ordered queso and chips but weren't given plates or the refill of chips we requested. Unfortunately, the wagon wheel table we sat at wasn't good for sharing food so plates were a must. Our server seemed rushed and really should have taken just a second at her tables to write things down to ensure she didn't forget things. We had forgotten beers, chips, plates, and hot sauce. But that's the negative. The handmade tamales were good but with very light stuffing of beans or pork, as requested. I don't know if that's typical of tamales or not. The chili cheeseburger looked tiny compared to the sloppy bun housing it though I was told it tasted pretty good. Overall, it's a nice scenic place to eat, the food is good but you better be in a good mood to put up with the inefficient service.
