“Great place to celebrate a birthday!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

My husband and I were in Albuquerque celebrating his birthday and selected the Artichoke Cafe for dinner. We had the calamari appetizer, the soup of the day which was outstanding, and the scallops as our main course. Everything was fresh and delicious! Wine was magnificent and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We will definitely return next time we are in Albuquerque.
Oh! almost forgot - we had the cream brulee for dessert and it was a wonderful treat!

“Never disappointed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2013 via mobile

Wonderful restaurant on Central Ave. Service impeccable, lovely room and ambience. Food excellent as always--we enjoyed the pear and blue cheese salad, the chicken breast with fennel sweet potatoes and spinach, and the steak frites. Easy trip from Popejoy Hall.

“Very nice atmosphere, sketchy neighborhood, tough meat.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

Artichoke Café is upscale dining and the atmosphere is just right: the lighting, the wait staff, the tablecloths, the wine glasses are all strong 4 stars. From there it is hit or miss. The soup was an amazing chicken crawfish Andouille sausage creation that with a creative and fresh salad could have been a wonderful 4 star meal. Hearty, flavorful, complex, delicious. If only we had stopped there. We didn't. We ordered the NY strip and it was below average. They were very accommodating to spit the steak for my date and me. The flavor was fine and it was cooked properly but it was a tough piece of meat. My date did not finish her half. I did, but it was disappointing. I would not have served it to guests in my home. The wine list is okay. Not adventurous, not too pedestrian, something on it will satisfy. Overall, there are much better choices in the Albuquerque area.

“Phenomenal food and drink in a chic setting downtown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013

Joined friends and their colleagues for dinner here after a conference. It was a bit noisy and our server was overwhelmed by the unusually large crowd on a Monday night. However, the food was outstanding - the prosciutto wrapped scallops were incredible and the pear and greens salad was fresh and delicious. My mojito was freshly muddled and very strong. Overall, a lovely dining experience.

“Meet and greet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

I was there for a meet and greet for a conference so I only sampled some of the treats they served there. It was pretty good. There were some crackers and a pate (?) and also a crunchy chip and veggie thing. Like I said, I don't know what they were called, but the atmosphere and the food was pretty good.
