“Good upscale restaurant”

They got us in without a reservation. In the bar and a bit noisy but next time we'll ask for the dining area which is quieter. Good quality food and service. Will visit again.

“Superb Dining Experience”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Very pleasant surprise and a fantastic dining experience. There was a great menu and good wine list. Service was exceptional, the veal scallopini was well prepared, presentation was inviting, and the meal was very good. It was a quiet, intimate and enjoyable dining experience rather than being just a meal.

“Excellent wine list and consistant quality of food and service”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

I have been dining at Artichoke Cafe since I was a child- it is my mother's favorite restaurant in the city. Lately I have been exploring the menu a bit more and found that their beef tenderloin is truly amazing. I enjoyed the grilled beef tenderloin entree and my father ordered the taquitos, which have shredded tenderloin. Both were excellent and the taquitos paired with a soup or salad are plenty for a meal. My husband always orders the steak frites and it is likely his favorite entree in the city. My mother is health conscious, so she delights in the menu offerings that are high in protein and paired with delicious, fresh vegetables. The owner, Terri Keene, is usually roaming the dining room ensuring that his guests are taken care of. The wine list at this restaurant is awesome- they do a wonderful job listing pairings too. I cannot recommend Artichoke Cafe enough. It is in a great location as well- we often dine here before attending performances at Popejoy Hall or the National HIspanic Cultural Center.

Very good service and very good food. Had an excellent French Onion soup which is a difficult to correctly prepare. This one was just short of great!
