“Excellent wine list and consistant quality of food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

I have been dining at Artichoke Cafe since I was a child- it is my mother's favorite restaurant in the city. Lately I have been exploring the menu a bit more and found that their beef tenderloin is truly amazing. I enjoyed the grilled beef tenderloin entree and my father ordered the taquitos, which have shredded tenderloin. Both were excellent and the taquitos paired with a soup or salad are plenty for a meal. My husband always orders the steak frites and it is likely his favorite entree in the city. My mother is health conscious, so she delights in the menu offerings that are high in protein and paired with delicious, fresh vegetables. The owner, Terri Keene, is usually roaming the dining room ensuring that his guests are taken care of. The wine list at this restaurant is awesome- they do a wonderful job listing pairings too. I cannot recommend Artichoke Cafe enough. It is in a great location as well- we often dine here before attending performances at Popejoy Hall or the National HIspanic Cultural Center.

“Great food”

Very good service and very good food. Had an excellent French Onion soup which is a difficult to correctly prepare. This one was just short of great!

“Just OK...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

I'm torn between average and good overall, but a few things brought it down, the food was good but nothing great - i've had much better burgers in a bar - but my sweetie enjoyed her crepe. service was s.l.o.w.... and the place had lots of open seats for lunch. the tables were too close, in my opinion. i could reach over and touch my neighbor's plate. i had what was suppose to be a "gourmet" burger but it was barely warm when it arrived - and the lettuce was wilted, even slightly slimy, add a dry tough bun. taken together, it suggests that someone put it in a microwave to heat it up and melt the cheese. the waitress stopped by about two minutes after she served and never returned, even thou we were out of water. and another strange thing happened - when i paid in cash, she brought back the bills but not the coins - maybe they round up??? ok, i admit i'm spoiled as i often dine in portland, where this place would rate a "2"... as it's in ABQ, we'll give it a "3".

“Pricey but excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

Had a Christmas dinner party with a group of business friends at this place and was very favorably impressed with the quality of the food, the presentation and the excellent service.
Our small group was in a back room, away from the main dining area, and we ordered from a limited fixed price menu arranged for the occasion. Prices seemed on the high side-especially for Albuquerque- but it seemed that the value was there to justify the cost.
