We stayed two different weekends one to catch a flight out and then when we flew back into Albuquerque. We appreciated the fact that we could leave our vehicle in their parking lot for a week and take the shuttle to the airport. Their breakfast is more of a grab and go, mostly individually wrapped pastries and hard boiled eggs which is pretty typical for an airport hotel. We had a clean but starting to look tired 2 room suite. Our second stay we arrived around noon and they allowed us to check in, our room was cold so we turned on the heat while we left and went to a movie and grab lunch/dinner. We came back and the room was still cold so they immediately sent up maintenance and it was fixed it in no time. Everyone from the front desk, shuttle driver to the maintenance man was very nice and helpful.

We live in AZ and have a daughter at USAFA so if we drive to visit her ABQ is our halfway point. Hotels in ABQ are in my opinion overpriced and it can be hard to find a good place at a good price...this being said the TOWNE PLACE is an ok place to rest and recharge. Rooms are a bit tired and need a bit of a paint job BUT the Customer service is excellent, the staff is friendly and the pool and jacuzzi were well kept. There is a free breakfast which is enough to get you out and on the road. Internet is free which is always a good thing! There is a HUGE gas BBQ by the pool which would be nice if you are in town more than one night...try to get a room facing west very nie view.

We spent two nights at the Townplace Suites and were pleasantly surprised. The property is close to the airport with easy access to the interstate and downtown. It is within walking distance to a few chain restaurants (IHOP, Fuddruckers, Waffle House, Applebee's). There is no restaurant on-site, but there is a small "store" that sells candy, ice cream, and other snacky items.

We got a two room suite with a full kitchen that was very roomy and affordable. We always enjoy the extra space when we travel. We did encounter a minor issue with the room (the toilet would not flush) but the front desk staff was more than helpful and got us another room with no problems. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Don't expect much from the complimentary breakfast. The selections were somewhat limited to cereal, pre-packaged pastries and muffins, some fruit and coffee, milk, and juice. Very basic, although everything was fresh and well-stocked.

There was one computer (and a printer) with internet access in the lobby area for guests to use. We took advantage of that to print some boarding passes - very convenient.

The outdoor pool area was nice (medium sized pool and a small hot tub) with several lounge chairs and a few tables with umbrellas. They even had a barbecue grill available for guest use.

The Townplace Suites Airport is a very basic but nice property. I would book this location again.

My company has had a rate agreement with this establishment. Every time I've been here, which total amounts to about 6 months, there have been internet problems which interfere with my work. If you don't need intenet access this is an OK place to stay but if your job depends on being online, stay away.

The hotel is fine if you don't mind dirty bathtubs and dogs barking all hours of the night.
When I was at the front desk, another couple had to change rooms because their carpet was wet. The guy's granddaughter stepped on the carpet and then the tile floor in the bathroom and fell. The front desk clerk stated that she was not told the carpets were cleaned.
I would not be surprised if the hotel has numerous lawsuits from guest getting hurt. After reading the reviews, I guess its normal practice for this hotel to give guest rooms with wet carpets.
Had I known they take dogs (there is no "pet free" floor), I would not have stayed here. Because my company is paying for the hotel, its too much hassel to change.
I expected a lot better from the Marriott and will do my best to avoid their hotels in the future.
P.S. their "high speed" internet is slower than dial-up and the pool in the picture is not that big. They used a wide angle lens to make it look big; in reality, its pretty small.

The hotel has rooms with very efficient kitchens with all the basic amenities you might need for a several day stay. A convection oven is a great way to cook.

Everything was very clean and well maintained. The room was well appointed- so much so that nearly everything one could need is there.

The only criticism was the air conditioner had a musty smell continually. There were a few pets there, one came in the food area and I asked the owner to please remove the animal from there. It may have been pet urine in the air conditioner now that I'm thinking this through.

Other than that, the whirlpool was clean, the continental breakfast was minimal but sufficient- and we got a good price. The free internet was very slow at times but accessible and provided free copy paper.

Overall, an excellent place to stay, and if you can get it in the $60-$80 night range, a good value also.

I've stayed here 4 times in 18 months with my family and pet and have had a great stay every time. The staff is courteous and friendly, the rooms are immaculately clean and there is none of the common discrepancies of a pet-friendly hotel (fleas, urine smell, etc.). The rooms are spacious (esp. liked the 2-room suite on my last visit) and well insulated from adjoining rooms (no noisy neighbors). Location is in a safe and clean area about 5 min. from the airport and 5-10 min. away from lots of great restaurants (there's even an Applebee's within 2 minutes walk of the hotel). I recommend this hotel to anyone staying with pets, it's a great place. The only downside is the $100 pet deposit but hey, at least me and the mutt aren't leaving with fleas! Also, their breakfast is really just a quick-grab of fruit/cereal/breakfast bars, etc. Still, you can't find a better pet-friendly hotel.
