Cafe' Lush, 700 Tijeras Ave. NW is a couple of streets north of Central. It is a small well laid out resturant with interesting choices for breakfast and lunh Monday thru Saturday.

“Quaint restarant with original food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

I love this small cafe for wonderful breakfasts and lunches or brunch on Saturday. The enchiladas can be ordered for breakfast and lunch or dinner and they are really delicious The hot chocolate is made with real Godiva chocolate and is the best in town. One can choose their ingredients for the omelets and the breakfast burritos. One can watch the cook cooking if one sits near the front counter. The cook will say good morning to all of his customers (and there are a lot of regulars) and the waitress is beautiful and very friendly. I really love this restaurant and it is open by 7:00 in the morning and is really close to downtown hotels and businesses. Recipes are original and all wonderful, try it and you will not be disappointed. You will be full too. They also use local ingredients as much as they can.

“Nice little cafe!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2013

It is a very small café. There are few tables outside when the weather is good for it. When we went, there were only a handful of people. So, it was fairly quiet.
There are quite a lot of interesting things on the menu. Red rock roaster products, meaning very special hot drinks. They are all in the price range of $2.25 -$4.25.Desserts are surely interesting-sounding with names like “chocolate chip whiskey bread pudding”. They are all in $2.25-$4.25 price range. They serve breakfast, and very original sandwiches & wraps, salads. They have pizza and burghers too. The restaurant uses local & organic ingredients. Nothing goes over $8.95.
People are very nice. As it was not very crowded, the chef (the owner) was sitting at a table resting. He seems very proud of his recipes.
All is well, but I have to admit that what I ate “ The Mo” vegetarian sandwich (with grilled eggplant with caramelized onions, mushrooms, rice cheese, toasted red pepper and spinach served open on grilled focaccia with avocado smear!) looked much better than it tasted. My friend had a salad and she loved it.
So, I guess it depends on what you order!

“really small neighborhood cafe with a gourmet chef”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

This cafe was just two blocks from where we were staying, but we would never have found it were it not for recommendations in Trip Advisor. A small, grey, nondescript little corner building at the edge of a quiet residential area just a few blocks from downtown. A few tables inside limit winter seating. It is run by the owners - husband does the cooking, wife serves the customers. During the week they have regular breakfast and lunch menus. On Saturday, when we ate there, they offer a single brunch menu until their 1:00 closing. My husband chose the open-faced club sandwich on focaccia and I had their chop salad; other brunch menu items included a selection of egg dishes.

The food was wonderful. Artfully presented, flavorful, just the right amount. Service was friendly and, judging by the interaction with local customers, it is a popular neighborhood spot. Interestingly all items are the same price- $10 and some odd cents (forgot to write it down).

They are closed on Sunday. Otherwise we would have definitely returned for breakfast before leaving town the next day.
