Description: Zacatecas is an authentic Mexican taqueria and tequila bar located in Nob Hill, Albuquerque created by Chef Mark Kiffin. Named for a region in central Mexico known for its classic, cross cultural blend of foods and recipes, Zacatecas offers a variety of soft tacos with fresh, organic ingredients and a Margarita bar featuring tequilas and beer exclusively from Mexico. Lunch and dinner menus include gourmet Mexican tacos (our shrimp tacos were featured on NM Style) served on warm Corn Tortillas, Tortas, Antojitos (appetizers), Postres (desserts), and classic Mexican specialties. Zacatecas also offers a bar menu featuring Signature Cocktails, South of the Border Specialties, Build-Your-Own Margaritas, Delicious Infusions, and an extensive selection of Tequila and Mezcal to compliment your dining experience. In addition to the food, part of the excitment at Zacatecas is the wide variety of events such as Dia de los Muertos Sugar Skull decorating, and Tequila Dinners!

9-13$ for 2 small tacos is a rip off. Yes, 2 tacos with double corn tortillas. The service is not friendly at all. Grumpy hostess, could care less wait person. Disappointed

This is a very interesting restaurant on Central Ave., across from Nob Hill. The food could have been very good but it felt as if it was just "thrown" together. We ordered the "Puerco Al Pastor" and "Tacos de Chicarron" which is basically two different versions of pork tacos. They were very tasty but the tortillas were cold so that was disappointing. I'm sure on a less busy day, the food can be quite good.
To avoid the long wait that we had consider calling ahead. Apparently just adding your name before you arrive will help if you're headed to dinner about 6pm. We were there at about 620pm and it was quite full. There was a huge table reserved that the restaurant finally gave up because the people were a no-show. But that was 40 mins. after we arrived. We noticed that at 7pm the restaurant cleared out and there were plenty of tables. So best bet is to call ahead with your name or dine after 7. The only issue I will have with the place is how loud it is. My ears were ringing after I left. Oh and they had a very good band but again too loud to fully appreciate.

The food was good, not outstanding but the margaritas were great. We were there on a Friday night and the place was packed. My only complaint was that they had a band and the music was sooooo loud we could not carry on a conversation.

It's not southwestern or Mexican by any standard. The tortilla a store purchased not handmade for what they charge and the rice could easily be Uncle Bens. Sorry for the forward review but I was hoping for authentic food, not fancy plates with silly garnishes that don't so anything for the flavor. Stick to the chips and salsa, those were good. If you want to spend a lot of money for fancy but not authentic, this is your place!
