“Top of the world Ma!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

We stopped by as tourist on our one day, one shot, at downtown ABQ . Gladly clicking away at the exterior architecture, when a woman came out and said that they had just finished a movie and we could go inside if we liked. Oh my God, rare opportunity I suspect, with the audience gone and security not yet suspicious of anyone just wandering around. We went everywhere. Such a great space. If you are an architect (me), history buff, or love architecture (hopefully you) – well this is a trip to the mountain.

“Charming ballet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

We were delighted to be taken to see The Wizard of Oz at the Kimo and to be able to savour some of this old theatre's native New Mexican charm whilst enjoying the enthusiasm of a local ballet group of dancers. No sign of Billy, the ghost, though!

“A Ghost? Rt. 66?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

A Free classic of Old Rt. 66...takes 10 minutes unless ya wait for the ghost. Take a minute here http://tinyurl.com/aucq8ne Check a 'sister' of the era, a restaurant across the street and then the intersection of 4th St. which was actually where Pre '37 Rt. 66 came down from Santa Fe and then just down from there, more recently, is The Library where Travolta exhorted Allen, Lawrence, and Macy to take their road trip in Wild Hogs. Just beyond is the mural seen when Macy wiped out and 2 blocks to the north by the Convention Center is where they threw their cells away!. To the west on 66 just past 12th is the iconic Dog House http://tinyurl.com/ausko92 going back to the '50s!!!

“Great intimate concert setting; good acoustics.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Privileged to see one of my faves, Lucinda Williams, in concert at a lovely old theatre on Central. Comfortable seating and the sound was very good. Thanks Albuquerque for keeping the Kimo alive and thriving!
