This is a wonderful escape for me. I feel safe and love to pack a lunch, hike around and sit in the stillness while I munch.

In the foothills of the Sandia Mtns, with easy-to-navigate trails suitable for gentle hiking, nature walking, or jogging. More ambitious hikers can continue up the Pino Trail to the crest of the Sandia Mtns, with substantial elevation gain.

I love this park for long or brief walks into New Mexico landscape that you wouldn't otherwise see while in the city. Also, had a great short hike to sit on a rock and watch the sunset happen over the city scape.

In the foothills of the city, but you'd never know it. A person can hike in Albuquerque all year because the weather is amazing. Just be cautious of the occasional rattle snake.
