“so much fun”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

We called and scheduled a visit to the Albuquerque alpaca ranch. What a fun little adventure. We were given a private tour of the ranch and got to spend time with the alpacas up close. They were as friendly as dogs, yet softer fur. They were adorable. My daughter even got to walk one! We both fed them and one kept trying to give us kisses. They have a lovely little store with all clothing, scarves, hats, stuffed animals, yarn, and even soap made from alpaca fur. There was no pressure to buy - but we couldn't resist!

“The kids loved the alpacas!”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

This was a great stop during our trip to Albuquerque. Leslie was wonderful ,she gave us a great tour of her place and plenty of hands on time with these unique animals. We were lucky enough to see and pet a one day old alpaca .

“A unique experience”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

We visited not knowing what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. Leslie gave us a tour of the alpaca pens and patiently told us all about the alpacas. She even let our kids walk the alpacas, feed them and we got to take multiple pictures with them. We then got a quick lesson on shearing and how to make yarn with the alpaca fleece. Finally, we were taken to the small "store" and got to buy some alpaca items of clothing that will make fine gifts. There was no fee for this great visit, so buying a few things was a nice way to support their efforts and have some souvenirs to take home.
The whole visit took about one hour and took us about 20 min to get there from our uptown hotel.

“Too Cute!”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

These guys are just too cute!! We went on one of the "open house" days. The ladies there were very friendly and informative. They even provided cookies and the best apple cider I've ever had! My 4 year old LOVED petting and feeding the alpacas. There was no entrance fee.

“Adorable alpacas, friendly tour guide/owner, and so close to the city”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Spent an hour here with a friend, and had a wonderful time petting the alpacas, feeding them, learning about their history, grooming, behavior, habits, and so much more from the owner, Leslie. She loves sharing her knowledge, giving tours to families and groups. You can also sign up for classes in felting and spinning. She showed us the craft room, her spinning wheel, and all the beautiful yarn ready to be woven into hats, sweaters, and scarves. You can purchase beautiful apparel in the nearby gift shop at very reasonable prices. Albuquerque Alpacas is very close to the city's North Valley, a short drive from Old Town, or from the North I-25 Balloon Fiesta Park area of Albuquerque.
Wonderful way to spend some time with kids of all ages who love petting the soft and gentle alpacas. You won't be able to resist those huge brown eyes!
Located off of paved streets in rural neighborhood, dirt parking lot, plenty of space for several cars at one time. Best to call ahead to make sure the owner is available to provide tours and the shop is open.
