My friends and I had a fun time watching the Isotopes beat Round Rock in the bottom of the ninth inning, 6-5, this week. It was a great game in a great stadium. We are baseball fans, and one of the highlights was a falling catch to reach a long hit to center-field. We purchased tickets in advance to ensure we were in the shade on the 1st base side. The most popular games are special outings for families (fireworks, $1 hotdogs, etc). Remember you can bring your own cold water to the game with no label. The peanuts and crackerjacks, as well as other food and beverages, are a little expensive, just like other places these days. Enjoy the game

We always see an isotopes game when we come to work at UNM, this is the best ballpark anywhere in the country.

A local attraction here in Albuq in the Spring-Late Summer is our Minor Team of Baseball, a farm team of the Dodgers. Yes..we have a winning team with all the spirit but the atmosphere is so energized. It's more than baseball..its the fans, the little fun things that happen on the field in between innings, and after the game, its the community that supports our team. We, as locals love the game, we might not all the ins and outs of baseball but we love our team and what it brings to our city. Come out and see a game..make it a stop on your visit to our beautiful city.

The Isotopes are a AAA team, and I think most people would agree that even in AAA you don't really go for the quality of the baseball as much as the whole ballpark experience. At an Isotopes game, you get plenty of both! The ballpark is pretty, especially for New Mexico - very green grass, scenic views, clean and crisp. I always enjoy just taking a walk around the park in the middle innings. The food selection is decent, and the beer selection isn't bad. You can even find some local brewery offerings. This is also a great experience for kids. Besides the traditional attractions (peanuts & crackerjacks, cotton candy, catching foul balls, mascots, between-innings races / competitions), the park also has a mini carnival. I think it's called the Fun Zone, and it has a few small rides and other carnival type entertainment. Our friends with kids feel safe letting them play there for a while unattended. The whole Isotopes experience is certainly family friendly and has attractions for all ages. Tickets are reasonably priced and $5 parking is available across the street. All in all a fun night out.

It's a great park with hardly a bad seat in the house, and the pricing is very affordable. Free fireworks on Saturday night home games and other frequent promotions make it a great deal overall.

One quick tip on parking: if you are looking for a cheap place to park and want to beat traffic leaving the game, there is a small parking lot connected to the UNM sports complex parking lot, about 1 1/2 blocks west from the stadium on the south side of Avenida Chavez SE. You will have to walk a bit longer than you would for other spots, but you won't be stuck in line getting out of your parking lot because there are two exits and not a lot of parking spaces. Even making a left back onto Avenida Chavez to get back onto 25 is easy after evening games because the left lane is usually open and there isn't much traffic going the other way after an evening game.
