“Average Indian food”
Reviewed March 15, 2012

Saffron Tiger has average Indian food and the price is a bit high for a fast food buffet style restaurant. That being said, it's one of the better choices in this part of town. The variety is pretty good and the outdoor seating area is nice. There are plenty of vegetarian choices. During lunch, there is an all you can eat buffet with dessert. It's quick and dependable.

I found the menu to be limited and the food was not great. Will not be going back there again.

“Good Food for a fast food restaurant”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

The only dislike was not knowing, until we got there, it was fast food. We did enjoy the food. It was a large selection.

“Satisfying Saffron”
Reviewed November 5, 2011

Saffron Tiger on Corrales Rd. is located in the space formerly occupied by another Indian restaurant. The dining area consists of a bar along one side and a larger area divided in half with side by side booths and tables. The environment was pleasant but I'm not sure that the TV screens with Bollywood videos were necessary. Service was excellent: attentive, helpful and very polite.

Saffron Tiger serves great food for a reasonable price. The menu is fairly comprehensive along with a short, but good wine list. Basmati rice is included with all meals and we were also served a complimentary spicy corn salad and papadum with 3 distinctly different sauces. Our order of vegetable pakora consisted of 6 good sized pieces of battered and deep-fried cauliflower and potato. We shared the reshmi chicken and butter chicken. The chicken was tender and not overcooked. The marinade used with the tandoori prepared reshmi chicken was really, really good as was the smooth, rich and complex sauce accompanying the butter chicken. Even the rice was well prepared with a mild curry aftertaste.

The on-line discount coupon made this meal an outstanding value, but we will definitely return and pay full price as it's worth it.
