We went during Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2011 and the ride was short and expensive. Our balloon was old and tattered. For breakfast they served cookies but there was champagne. No pictures taken as promised. No history of ballooning as promised. All in all it was a disappointing experience. Shop around for another company! Our ride lasted less than 40 minutes...certainly not the hour to hour and a half the brochure promised.

Knowing that I would be in ABQ for one day only during a road trip with kids, I wanted to enjoy a hot air balloon ride with them. Unfortunately, most companies simply charge too much for the little ones. Sweet Escape, however, charged only 1/2 price for the kids -- 1/2 of a full price that itself was surprisingly reasonable. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and engaged in helping explain the science of the trip to us all. I look forward to coming back to ABQ and doing it again!

We took our balloon ride on Dec 28th.The crew was very friendly and explained all about the balloon setup and let us help get the balloon ready to fky. The flight was great and lasted over an hour. The digital pictures they gave us of the were a real plus. It was an experience to remember.

We were also canceled during the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque by Sweet Escape Balloon Rides. See saw many other balloons flying that day. We also heard reports of 5 balloon accidents that day. We were glad they canceled us. Had a great flight that weekend.

My wife and I (from Boston) were planning to visit friends in Albuquerque during the 2009 Balloon Fiesta -- and so we made reservations with this company 6 months in advance for a ride for 4 of us to take place in the middle of the week of the Fiesta so we could see the hundreds of other ballons that were lifting off at the same time -- though 5 miles away. The week and the day came and we were literally at the designated "meeting place" at 6:00 a.m. awaiting the arrival of the crew from Sweet Escapes when they called to cancel due to anticipated high winds. They offered to take us up 3 days later -- the last day of the Fiesta -- and we accepted, and so instead we spent that morning at the Balloon Fiesta and saw several hundred other balloons have no problem taking flight that morning in the "high winds" that Sweet Escapes described. The next day we received a call from Sweet Escapes telling us they had a "conflict" with the date they had rescheduled us for and would knock a $40 per person off the cost of our flights if we could go up 2 days later -- no longer during the Balloon Fiesta (and so no longer with a view of hundreds of other ballons), but what could we do but accept their proposal aternative? So on the newly rescheduled day (our last in Albuquerque) were we once again literally at the designated "meeting place" at 6:00 a.m. awaiting the arrival of the crew from Sweet Escapes when they once again called to cancel due to anticipated "bad weather." As it turned out there was a 10% chance of rain and it never did rain that morning. I can understand exercising caution, but given what turned out to be the ACTUAL weather conditions on both of the days that they cancelled it was our sincere sense (shared by our local friends who have been ballooning many timess with multiple different companies in Albququerque) that we were bumped on the last two occasions because Sweet Escapes moved larger parties of people into our appointment slot and/or were not able to partner our party of 4 people up with other parties of 4 to fill their desired capacity. So they cancelled rather than meet their obligation to us for a dollar amount less than they would optimally want to receive for a flight. Don't let their low price entice you -- for in this case you truly get what you pay for -- which in our case was an extremely disappointing nothing.
