“The jewel of a museum”

Who would have ever imagined Turquoise came in so many different shades, matrixes, shapes, sizes and colors. The layout of the museum is astonishing beginning on how it is mined and from where it comes from to who wore it in ancient times to today's celebrities majestically adorned in it. Truly the experience and the knowledge gained was far worth the admission fee.

“Highly informative and interesting”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

If you are considering investing in turquoise jewelry or other items with this semi-precious stone in it, I highly recommend taking the tour. Note that you can't just show up whenever. Tours on Saturday were at 11 and 1 pm.

We had the grandson Jacob leading the tour. There's a lot of valuable information to learn to be able to make an informed purchase, so a guide who can condense the important criteria to price turquoise accurately is essential. There's also much geographical and historical information that is left up to you dig into deeper if you wish when the guide leaves you on your own. Your choice.

“Great Museum Tour”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

The Turquoise Museum is truly a gem. We were very fortunate to have Joe Dan himself guide us through the exhibits. He took great care explaining turquoise from the mine to gemstone. We spent about 2 hours at the museum.

The museum has the usual displays of magnificent gems, history and the difference between natural turquoise and imitation.

“The Real Deal on Turquoise”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Want the low-down on turquoise? Visit the Turquoise Museum. I was doing a little internet research before my recent trip to Santa Fe, and found this museum. I own turquoise and love it. So after flying in to Albuquerque, I located the museum and took the tour with Joe P. He is very knowledgeable and nice and funny. The tour was very interesting with plenty of time for questions. Afterwards, I had a most interesting conversation with Joe Dan. Want a great book about turquoise? They have two beautiful books available here to buy. I highly recommend a visit to this place!

“Great expertise”

And some very unusual pieces of turquoise. If you cherish your illusions about turquoise, don't go to this museum. But if you are interested in truly learning about this misunderstood gem then this is the place for you. Informative guide was able to answer any question tossed his way. Well worth the visit and I would recommend this attraction to others.
