It's just a barren spot far out in New Mexico, but it was really moving. Worth the drive. Open only 2x a year, pack a picnic and go. Stop at San Antonito for green chile cheeseburgers on the way home, but know that's what everyone else is doing too!

Open first Sunday in April and October.  Still free.  Should see it once for history's sake, but once is quite enough.  About 1 1/2 hours North of Las Cruces or South of Albuquerque.

Open 2 days a year the Trinity Site is one of those places you should visit for history's sake, but once is definitely enough.  The range headquarters has great collection of missiles but Trinity site is not close to that at all.

Pretty desolate but history was made here. Only open twice a year. Really interesting if you have read or know the history of the atomic bomb or read fiction like Stallion's Gate.
