“By far the best pizza in Albuquerque”
Reviewed November 14, 2010

Second best is a distant second but some will swear that this thin crispy pizza is burnt. It isn't but to each his own taste. If you love Pizza Hut or Dion's you will hate this-much too Italian. My only complaint is that the dining room is an echo chamber, deafening when crowded so we usually go after 1:30.

“Good food, terrible service”
Reviewed October 15, 2010

Nope, not going again. The place was empty except for tons of staff. We had to wait forever for service, ordered pasta off the special menu, $12 for pasta with cut up pieces of undercooked squash. The waitress was pleasant enough, but man, I have been ignored at fancy restaurants, ok fine, but at a dead pizza joint?

“Awesome Food and Atmosphere”
Reviewed August 27, 2010

The restaurant is pretty new and is still packed. Not very large, and tables are right next to each other. So be prepared to make some new friends. The food is some of the best in the city. There is ample parking considering it is in downtown Albuquerque. They have a full bar and feature local beers.

“ABSOLUTELY the Best Pizza In Albuquerque!!!”
Reviewed August 17, 2010

O.K. Everyone has their own idea of what good pizza is, or should be, me included!
I think New York and Italy are places where people know what pizza should be, so that's my comparison for what good pizza is. Farina is much more like the pizza in Italy. Thin, crispy crust, fresh tasting sauce and cheese and just the right spices. They have the formula and it's consistantly good. Stu is the owner and he keeps a close watch on things to make sure it's all perfect. Great atomsphere. Maybe a bit too loud at times?
My only criticism would be the artwork on the walls, which seems to go from bad to worse as it changes, trying to be "cool".

“Blown away - extraordinary from beginning to end”
Reviewed December 16, 2009

I am not a homer or neophyte - I have looked all over the place for great pizza, lived in Italy for 9 years, Chicago for 2 and New York for 15. The pizza I had at Farina in ABQ last week was the best I have ever had - without question or exaggeration - and I was blown away by two different pies. It is the real thing and prepared beautifully. Oh, and then there is a butterscotch flan/pudding with sea salt that is mouthwatering but not too sweet. Oh, and then there was the properly prepared espresso, not scorched and full of flavor - better than what I had at "the place" in San Francisco last week. Do not take Farina casually - they are making a serious statement with very high commitment to their ingredients and preparation - yet there it is, an inexpensive, understated little place off of downtown ABQ.
