I stayed at this hotel for a week while attending class at the adjacent Indian Training Center. The hotel was clean throughout. The staff were all helpful. Breakfasts were filling and flavorful. I could not ask for any more from a hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel before; and the excellent service and great facility made it an easy choice to stay again. Geoffrey checked us in quickly and advised us about services available in the facility. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. We got a good night's rest after a long day on the road. Harris Balkin, Sales Manager, stopped by our breakfast table in the morning to ensure we were enjoying our stay. When we checked out, Penny at the Front Desk thanked us for visiting and hoped we enjoyed our stay. The professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the consistent quality will make this a location we will come back to again and again. Thanks for making us feel like we were home.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, though not large, and the bed was nice. Bathroom was a good size and clean. There was a laundry room just down the hall which we used which was nice. The breakfast bar was good and well stocked. The view was marvelous. We were on an art buying trip and had a lot of cash which was locked in a safe at the front desk for no charge. Would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I don't suppose I know what would be a bad room here.

ardeanest,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am glad that you were able to have a nice time in Albuquerque and hopefully found some great pieces for your art collection. I agree with you on the view. It is great to be able to see our wonderful Sandia Mountains each day when you walk out the front door of the hotel. We hope to see you again soon.

My wife and I visited Albuquerque to meet our brand new Grandson and stayed here to be as close as possible to him. What a surprise it was to be greeted by name on arrival and congratulated on our newest family member! Our daughter-in-laws family had been staying here already and had been so pleased with the staff they had shared the news. This was just the beginning of an exceptional stay.
As mentioned in most of the prior reviews here, the hotel is very well maintained (new, as far as we could tell) and we had to look hard to find anything that looked even slightly worn. Not our usual experience with most mid-priced hotels and we were pleasantly surprised. The breakfast in the morning included hot cinnamon buns, biscuits and sausage gravy, sausages/patties, eggs, fruit, etc. All fresh and delicious. Instead of a waffle maker, they have a very easy to use pancake maker that makes a stack of pancakes for you while you get your coffee (seemed very popular with the kids we saw). Pool was clean, weight room useful and after hours coffee/cocoa most welcome. Oh, and there were hot air balloons floating by occasionally in the morning.
However, well beyond all the nice features of the hotel, was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. We have been greeted at other hotel desks, many times before over the last 30 years, and most hotels we stay at have staff that are 'friendly' but we've never heard of the staff taking the time to put together a small 'Welcome to the World' gift for newborns! Every smile was genuine, every 'How are we doing?' sincere. The closest we've come to our experience at this hotel was on board a cruise ship (never at a hotel).
I don't write reviews for average experiences. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend you try this hotel! Just be warned, it may jspoil you on other hotels.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights in February 2013, and she stayed for a few more days while on a trip for work, and we were both impressed with this hotel. It was clean and new, and staffed by friendly people. The breakfasts were all we needed and the business center's printer had paper and ink for boarding passes. It is close to the airport and a $1 car wash. Across the street is the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, where hotel guests get $10 off their food in the excellent restaurant.

The Albuquerque Historic Old Town Holiday Inn meets the gold standard in lodging, as far as my wife and I are concerned. It’s clean. It’s comfortable. And it’s conveniently located. All for a reasonable price. But this HIE is also much more. It has an extraordinarily friendly and welcoming staff. In hopes of getting a high floor with a view of the mountains, we mentioned it was our 50th wedding anniversary. To our total surprise, the front office manager, Toni Chino, and her staff, swung into action. We found ourselves upgraded to a full suite (2 rooms, 2 TVs, 2 bathrooms and a sauna)! The coffee table was set with a large bottle of Welch’s grape juice cocktail in an ice bucket, lemon cookies, chocolate-covered pretzels, a bowl of mints, anniversary decorations, and a Hallmark card signed by her outstanding staff (Penny, Maria, Jiliana, Sarah, Eva and Pralay). When we expressed our surprise and appreciation to Toni, her attitude was that they were eager to help anyone celebrate a special event. They certainly know how to do it. From now on, whenever we think of our 50th anniversary we’ll think of Toni and her friendly staff at this Holiday Inn.

Ted70Michigan,

Thank you so much for the review! I can't tell you how much these mean to us. I am glad that you were happy with our hotel and our staff. We love the opportunity to celebrate events with our guests, especially something as significant as a 50th Anniversary. I hope that we are all as lucky as the two! Your hand written note is up on our bulletin board and brought a tear to our eyes. Thank you so much! Wishing you another wonderful 50 years! Hope to see you again soon.

This HoIiday Inn Express (HIE) staff should be the standard against which the IHG corporation bases all its properties. It is obvious that management of this property understands the concept of customer service and staff attitude.
Housekeeping was timely and complete. The breakfast was appropriate for the HIE price range. Common area maintenance (painting, etc.) was good and on-going. The only comments for improvement were minor and passed on to a receptive front desk: (1) housekeeping should keep a better eye on bathroom "paper products" (don't be chintzy about supplies, even if customers do walk off with an occasional box of tissues); (2) the front entry doors were occasionally erratic in opening (cleaning of the tracks and lubrication should take care of this); (3) because of the location at a major intersection, the next renovation of rooms/suites on the intersection side should include more window soundproofing (a third pane?); (4) the room thermostat(s) need upgrading/replacement (indefinite feel when changing modes).

However - will we stay at this HIE again? - most assuredly!

Room Tip: Rooms/suites away from the intersection would be quieter at night
