“Very friendly staff running a clean, refurbished hotel - excellent value”
Reviewed February 25, 2010

Located on the western edge of Albuquerque on historic Route 66, this hotel charged a much lower rate than I would have expected for such a nice building, clean recently renovated rooms and friendly staff. It is near I-40 and easy to get to the main attractions of the city. The only negative is some traffic noise, but that hardly offsets the other positives.

I will definitely stay there the next time I am in town.

We traveled to Albuquerque with 4 teenage boys and met up with a niece and husband with 2 babies for an after-Christmas ski trip at Sandia Peak. I found this motel through Trip Advisor. It's a little hard to find at first as it's not on a main hotel strip, and it is definitely a motel so don't expect anything fancy, but it's very convenient to Old Town, restaurants, the tram, and about 40 minutes from the slopes. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We needed joining rooms to keep an eye on the teens, and my niece and husband needed a larger room to take care of the babies. The owners made sure we got exactly what we needed and even moved us a little away from other guests so we didn't have to worry as much about the teens disturbing others.

The heated pool was perfect because it's not too close to rooms so the boys could swim and play without us worrying about them making too much noise and/or disturbing other guests.

We definitely plan to stay there again and highly recommend this motel if you're looking for a clean, convenient, inexpensive and welcoming place to stay in Albuquerque.

Tell the owners we said hi!

Clean motel with very helpful staff. It's not in a great area but we paid $50 for a Saturday night so we were happy enough!

Nice size room with frig and micro, which is great when travelling with young children. Poor continental breakfast, but we were able to put food in the hotel freezer, which made it okay. Had to request extra towels for a family of four, which took awhile to get. The indoor swimming pool was not as heated the night we swam as the night we checked in. The pool temperature seems to vary. However, the toilet didn't flush and my husband had to hook the flap twice for it to work. Beds were VERY hard, but staff added extra blankets to provide cushioning. Would definitely not recommend to anyone with back problems. The biggest issue was NO hot water in the morning. My daughter, who was preparing for a piano competition, had to shower in another hotel room. The first room they opened for her to shower in was smoking and we were staying in a no smoking room and had to request a no smoking room while standing out in the cold morning air. Staff was kind and apologetic for the problems, but that doesn't take away from the inconvenience. If you can afford to stay somewhere else, I would recommend you do so.

We stayed one night upon our arrival and our departure from Albuquerque. We chose this hotel on the reviews I found here, and we were not disappointed. The area around the hotel is not that spectacular due to its age, but do not let that stop you from staying there. You are nearby to everything.

The hotel is near to Old Town, which for anybody visiting Albuquerque, this is the place you want to see. Good restaurants, Indian and southwestern art, jewelery, and what have you.

Kaye the owner and her husband are truly the American story. The hotel is in very good shape and well maintained and clean. Kaye goes out of her way to make you feel at home. One can tell she is very proud of her business and enjoys meeting new people. We were also invited to hear here story and see pictures of her children. This is why we love to stay in small locally owned inns and hotels.

After accidentally getting the wrong room Kay made everything alright. She upgraded us to connected rooms. Ended up being better than we had reserved. Kids had their own space and we had our privacy. Very nice. Kay went out of her way to be sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We highly recommend this spot in Albuquerque.
