“It was a OK lunch!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

The place is laid back and fast moving, prices are bit high, but altogether not so bad!
I had a grilled cheese in greens sandwich and it was ok, but not fantastic. I would not say that it was very nicely presented like some other places I have been to. My friend had a salad that looked fine, but was also a bit pricey.
The café also sells things homemade. From looking around it seemed that they serve fresh things on their sandwiches and salads. It was lunch time between 12.30-1.00, but there were several empty tables. There was also a patio closed with plastic that looked rather full.
I am glad I ate there and got to know the place, but I do not think I will miss it if I never come back here again.

“Hipster Heaven : no Coke”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Hahaha! OK, full disclosure: I am clearly not in their intended demographic. And I will say up front that the food was OK, but overpriced. But the bang for your entertainment buck comes from men in tiny pants and pale uni-brow ladies wearing prison glasses.

I ordered the grilled cheese with an addition of green chile (it is Albuquerque, after all). Havarti, provolone and white cheddar on sourdough. Tasty enough, but it was a chokingly large and greasy amount of cheese. They could cut the cheese back by a third for a more manageable sandwich, but then they might not be able to charge $11 for it. The sourdough was pressed thin and grilled nicely. Sandwich came with three tiny sweet pickle rounds and a ramekin of marinated (but still somehow dry) garbanzo beans and raw carrot slices.

Your choice in beverage is limited to hipster-friendly boissons such as mineral water, bottled white tea and Orangina. OK, there are a few more, but don't expect anything like fountain soda. No Coke.

The venue feels less like a cafe and more like a small cafeteria with a concrete floor and a high ceiling. It's loud and a little crowded.

I won't hold any of this against them. I am just clearly not the market they're aiming for. All you 18-35's out there who love fixies and vinyl will adore it.

“Don't go at lunch time.”
Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

It took a couple of tries to get in to try this place. Ther were no tables available at noon. There is additional patio seating if its warm out. The food was really good and the house made English muffins are yummy. The fresh OJ is amazing. I would definitely recommend this place.

“Yum! Can't wait to come back”
Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

It was nice to have a healthier breakfast for a change. Smoked salmon, fresh fruit and a salad. It was prepared very well and had excellent presentation. Food came out fairly quick for such a busy place. We got the last table- so it was pretty packed. Super friendly staff :)

Grabbed a couple cupcakes for the road ;) sooo good

Wish we had one of these in Cali !

“Croque Monsieur For Brunch”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

I went to the Grove Cafe and Market for the first time about a month ago, after hearing many friends rave about it. A varied and healthy menu is featured where you order at the counter, and then your food is brought to you. Despite being busy for breakfast on this Saturday during the holidays, the service was pleasant and efficient. They also have a line separate from the main ordering line for coffee and tea refills, take out boxes, etc. I enjoyed a delicious croque monsieur for my meal that was served with a nice side of fresh fruit. Just enough food, portions are perfect. I look forward to visiting there again soon!
