We took the tram mainly because we had dinner reservations at High Finance. Wow! What a view! The Sandia mountains are so much more grand up close!! Definitely do this while in Albuquerque.

This was so interesting and beautiful, and the guide was excellent in explaining the view and how the tram works. At times you think you are going right into the cliffs! It's awesome. Be sure to go in late afternoon so you can come down into the lovely lights of the city. It's really a nice evening activity to share with other visitors.

The ride is exciting and the view unbelievable. If you have any fear of heights, this trip will be uncomfortable because they are constantly reminding you of how high you are from the ground.

Beautiful views, fantastic trip well worth it. The tourist information advised us to go up and I'm so glad we did. We only spent one night in Albuquerque but I would have liked to do the sunset meal at the top.
Highly recommended.

Give yourself at least half a day to take the ride on this attraction. A knowledgable tour guide tells you what rock formations you are gliding over as you ascend up the mountain as lets you know how many feet you are at at different stages. Although it is only a 20 minute or so ride up and then again back, you will want to spend time at the top of the Sandia Peak viewing the entire city of Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. You really can see for miles and miles. There are nature trails for hiking along the ridge, and a restuarant you really need to have time for if you decide to dine there. Be sure to keep your ticket to show for the ride back down, as hikers have been known to try to get on board. You can only purchase the tickets at the base in the building with the gift store and Ski museum. Solo or with a group, this is a spectacular journey everyone should experience.
