I have been up the mountain many times - such a quick getaway to quiet away from the city! Great views anytime. Instantly elevated to alpine forest. Remember you are gaining significant altitude and you'll feel it at the top. We are quick to suggest this to any of our out of town guests but warn them of the elevation - 10,000 feet. Seems to be more fun when you can spend time up there and do a little hiking rather than a quick trip up and then down again. Easy to get to if you take the Tramway exit from either freeway (seems quicker from I-25 north). Take a camera and plan to have fun!

Number 2 thing to do if you are visiting NM, You will see dramatic views ,, go up before it gets dark so you can come down and have a nice dinner and drinks at Santiago's at the base when you get off. If you want go eat up the tram at the HIgh Finanance restaurant . Why I say number 2 is that the number 1 thing to do in ABQ, NM is the trolley!!!!!!!!!

Our tram operator was very friendly and gave a fun presentation as we went up. We especially wanted to descend at sunset, and they helped us figure out the best time to go down.

The Tramway was great fun. It's a little scary being so far up the side of a mountain but the views were terrific. The value was pretty good too. I'm really glad I took the time to find and then enjoy the Tramway.
