This is a must for any stay in the Albuquerque area.....a fantastic cable car ride up the mountain.....with great views at the top.
Air was crisp ( and a few degrees cooler) at the top.
A couple of reasonably easy walks last less than a couple of hours there and back if you want to push out from the tram station at the top.....need reasonable footwear though.
Worth every penny for some great views on New Mexico.

We live in the area and take the tram up the mountain often. Our friends have really enjoyed the evening trips with drinks or dinner at the High Finance restaurant while watching the lights of Albuquerque spread below.
There is also a great little restaurant at the base.

Even if you are afraid of trams/heights. This is one great trip. At the top of Sandia Crest you will be enchanted by the views and feel like you really experienced New Mexico.

This ride to the top of the Sandia Mountains offers a panoramic view of Albuquerque and beyond. Reputed to be the world's longest aerial tram, it's not for those with a fear of heights. While tickets are pricey, the views and the nature trail walk at the top are worth it in my book.

We had a great experience with the tramway, timing it exactly as the sun was about to set. It was beautiful, and the employees who are obligated to ride the (automated) tramcar have a great attitude and sense of humor for having to repeat the same thing 15 times a day. The restaurant at the summit was fun too, with a great view and a good margarita and scotch selection.
