“Nature At Its Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

The 28-mile drive through Petrified Forest National Park (coming in on HWY 40 and exiting on HWY 180) is a not-to-be missed experience. There are frequent turn-offs and photo stops where some of the most breath-taking views can be seen. Lots of well-paved paths make for easy walking. Although you are not permitted to remove any petrified wood from the park, there are gift shops outside the park selling pieces from nearby areas. You'll see colors in the surrounding hills and rocks that you'd swear were photo-shopped if you weren't seeing them with your own eyes. Even if you just drive through without stopping (heaven forbid!) don't miss this if you're in the vicinity.

“Rainbow Forest - AZ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2013

Breath taking sites here at the National Petrified Forest Park....you'll never forget it!! It's located off of Interstate 40 and less than 1 hour away from Winslow, AZ. Beautiful 'Rainbow Colors' and would also highly recommend visiting the museum and gift store.

“Amazing Colors!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

Our favorite part of the park was the Rainbow Forest trail. The wood pieces are very very beautiful- I didn't know you could find such bright vibrant colors in wood!! We visited the museum and gift store and it was a nice drive through the park. The day was very hot- make sure you have plenty of sunscreen!!

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

Even if you only have a small amount of time to give, you won't be sorry you paid the money. A small fee for such beauty. We were on a honeymoon trip across the country and stopped here for a couple of hours. Nice drive and great views! Stop and have a look! We also had lunch at the cafe in the gift shop before heading in and the food was also good.

“Nice to walk around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

It was our second visit here, this time we entered from the north entrance from I-40; painted desert visitor center.
It was very hot day, but in the morning we enjoyed the short trail near Tawa point area. Giant Logs trail area (south entrance) was very nice for the first time; last time we couldn't walk the painted desert area due to the heat.
