Great site. Well worth the entrance fee. Must have hit a slow day as there were only five cars in the parking lot. Audio tour is great. Outside exhibits are great. Some well preserved fortifications, decent buildings.

“Really enjoyed it!”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

This was a really nice civil war park. There are at no cost, headsets to use that give you more detailed info about the site. I would highly recommend using these outside too. You will need to leave a drivers license with them if you take the headsets outside so don't leave it in the car. I am not a civil war follower but my husband is so we went for his enjoyment. I have to tell you that I was just as entertained as he was. I learned so much. Now I want to start studying the civil war. This really is a must see. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

“History lessons at their best”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Pamplin Park should not be missed on your visit to Petersburg. It is separate from the NPS battlefields and so there is a fee involved. There are bathrooms and some vending machines on site. Don't miss the "War So Terrible" movie, it is fabulous. Can't rave enough about this site and we unfortunately didn't plan for enough time to go thru it properly. We'll just have to go back.

Thanks for the positive comments. We offer boxed lunches and buffets for groups by reservation only. We have snacks and drinks in the Civil War Store and in vending machines. There are plenty of restaurants in the area for individual visitors.
