This is one of those things that's ok to do if you're already in the area. It's about the size of one large room, with lots of educational things about the history of surfing, such as the evolution of the surfboard, different kinds of surfboards today, and pictures and information about different people who made their mark in surfing history. There is also a small surf/beach store attached to it, and a cafe in the same area.

I enjoy seeing the kids enjoy their time at the Surf museum. I will go again and take my family and friends.

The museum is a backroom of a retail shop. Not very large but did have quite a collection of surfboards and stories about surfers and surfing in Texas. If you are in the area it is worth dropping into.

Great t-shirts and music. A bit eclectic and we didn't even spend time really checking out the museum.

“Interesting bit of surfing history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

You don't think of Texas when surfing is mentioned. This 'museum' is more like the owner's personal collection of surfboards (at least 50)and memorabilia, but still quite interesting. It's in the back of a record/souvenir shop, tucked behind a restaurant. No charge and you can see everything in about 15-20 mins; longer if you want to read the histories of the surboards.
