This hotel was awful! We booked online and did lots of research, looked at photos etc. Let me just say that the pictures do not represent the actual hotel. I'm guessing they took a photo of the very best room and put it online because our room was awful. The photo of the front of the building isn't even of the correct hotel.

Our room was dirty and had ants and spiders. Also there was no elevator which made taking luggage up and stairs loads of fun. The only good thing was that they let us leave immediately and didn't charge us a thing. We moved that very night to the Radisson next door which I can reccomend as being lovely.

I stayed here one night escaping Hurricane Ike from Houston. Since I had a dog there were not too many hotels to choose from. The room wasn't too bad. The bed was okay, but a little to firm. The furniture had a small tear on it. The linens were nice. The hotel room was fairly inviting - it could use paint. The carpets were in good shape. The breakfast in the morning is continental, not too bad or too good. The pool area is nice. My room had some problems, first the phone didn't work. I called the desk from my cell phone and the maintenance guy could not fix it. They offered to move me, but it was late and didn't want to do that. The bathroom door would not shut completely.

The staff there are nice, but like the other reviewers said, they act as if you are an inconvenience if you want anything from them. I called for pillows and it took hours to get them to me, and when they did arrive - the desk clerk seemed very sullen. Also, the Internet never did work.

Its a mediocre hotel - not too bad or too good. It seems like a hotel that is on a downhill slope.

Would I stay there again. Given the situation, yes... they accept pets, not too bad overall. It was clean, I'll give it that.

this hotel needs alot of maintenenance!! it is dirty inside and out!
bathroom was dirty with a brown spot on the shower curtain, the carpet was filthy. there was some sort of residue on the nightstand when we checked in. there was a hole in the wall in the bathroom. there daed bugs smashed on the walls. the pool was old and looked like it had not been maintained in years. the room and pool look NOTHING like the pictures pictured on the website. the staff seemed like they did not care at all.the location was great however, i would not stay there again.

PROS
Stayed August 4-8, 2008. If you have kids, it is perfect. It is within walking distance to the Lexington and TX State Aquarium. (Do not pay the $4.00 to park). The beach is is less than 100 yards away. (NO SAND IN THE CAR!!) The pool is huge. (The pool next door at the Raddision was a bathtub compared to this one). We arrived early and was able to check in within an hour. Breakfast was great, fresh fruit, pastries, REAL waffles, juice, cereal, milk, coffee, etc. Hotel staff was very friendly and helped carried all our luggage up the stairs. (No elevator). The ice machine never ran dry. The rooms were clean. The sheets & towels were SUPER soft, better than at home. The pillows were awesome, super fluffy. Anytime we needed more towels, there was a knock on the door before you could hang the phone up. (our room was on the 2nd floor near the office) Having a microwave and refrigerator is great if you are trying to budget. We brought a lot of food from home to save on money. If you have State Farm insurance, the rate is cheaper than if you are a government employee!!! We never ran out of hot water and the water pressure was actually decent for being on the 2nd floor. Free wireless Internet was great, no hassles no having to get a code. Ask the front desk before you go site seeing to see if they have discount coupons. (Example: TX State Aquarium) This is the first vacation I have taken in many many years. Being a single mom, we had to pinch pennies and after 4 hours of researching multiple hotels, I was very satisfied!!!! Overall, it is a great deal for what we paid for.
CONS
They need a bell at the front desk. 4/5 times you had to yell to get someone to come out. They were fairly friendly at the front desk. At times, it seemed like you were more of an inconvenience. It took at least a day for the refrigerator to get everything cold. We had to exchange one out because the small freezer area needed to be defrosted. The rate was excellent, got a discount for having State Farm insurance which was less expensive than the government rate! Yet, I am not sure if room facing the beach or pool are an option. We got a room facing the parking lot. The AC was on high the whole time and it never got too cold, it seemed like it was on medium. We WERE there during the hottest time of the summer. I saw one roach. The rooms are small and I do not recommend this for more than 2 people. The bathrooms are very cramped. There is no bathtub but the walk in shower is over sized. As with most hotels, every plug in is already occupied, so bring an extra power strip. (We had cell phones, Nintendo DS, camera recharger, laptop, DVD player, etc. etc.). The small safe was great until it did not work. We had to call the front desk who had to fix it. I hope this helped. :) Joy from Pflugerville

We reported a pile of feces at the pool area that had been stepped in and reported it to an unalarmed staff at font desk. The next morning walking to breakfast the pile was still there! SICK! We couldn't use the pool. We reported it again and nobody seemed too concerned about it. Same with the broken bottle in the outdoor shower. Hello! Bare feet! There was trash all over the pool area. It took two days to get working batteries for our remote. Very unimpressed with the service of the staff.

Bright side: Our beach front room was right on the sand with a short walk to the surf. Lots of restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

The hotel is nothing special but the location is so nice and close to the beach.
The front desk person had a bit of military stiff sound. We did not feel welcome at all at that moment.

This is great location for a vacation traveller - we had booked a hotel in Corpus Christi, but when we drove in realized it was in the middle of endless refineries - there are lots in CC! So we drove to the beach and managed to find this hotel. The room was just fine for us - comfortable and clean, with very helpful staff, and a reasonable price. We could walk out directly onto the beach - the Lexington and the Aquarium are right there. Also, there are restaurants with good seafood close by.
