The beach is nice place but the ocean is polluted with plastic bags and other garbage. I hope people (public) would be more considerate by not throwing plastic bags, beer bottles, cans and other children plastic play stuffs or let is wash away. I have picked up few plastic bags coming from the ocean and threw it into the garbage bin. Please save our environment for your children..........

Good place to visit on a Saturday after the summer rush. Rentals of umbrellas are cheap. Family atmosphere

You can park on this beach and not have anyone next to you all day long. Love it! Wide and clean with beautiful clear water

The beaches are clean, the water is beautifully blue and you can park on the beach and keep an eye on your vehicle or park on paved areas not far away.
Some of the beaches have life guards or you can venture further south on the island and park and enjoy peace and solitude if you like. I hesitated to write this as I really don't want everyone to know!

We stayed on North Padre Island our first time on the Texas Coast. Lovely area! We enjoyed the Gulf, the restaurants, and the area in general. People were nice and very laid back. Odd to us you can drive on the beach with any type of vehicle! We drive up on the beach on the east coast but need s 4 wheel drive and have to deflate tires first. Padre Island you can drive any car right up because the sand is so flat. Interesting to see on the weekend lots of camping on the beach and bonfires at night. More quite during the week. More trash on the beach then we’re used to seeing. I’m sure that’s because you can camp easily overnight. But we did see people with “don’t litter” bags picking up trash a few times. I think they need a few more volunteers. Otherwise the area is beautiful, Pelicans galore and the water is perfect!
