What a great place to have lunch or dinner during the sunset over Corpus christi !
The food was really good: seafood salad, crabcake burger.
Really not expensive for the quality of the food !
You have all the view on the Gulf !

It was a Chamber of Commerce Day so we were given a great table on the deck, some complementary warm bread and had several drought beers. Jenn was a great waitress and was very attentive even though we were not dining. The entrees I saw were presented nicely.

This was our repeated visit to this restaurant as on previous occassions we were very happy. We ordered our favored meals, flounders and shrimp salad, with crab cakes as appetizers. The crab cakes were about old silver dollar size and they tasted more like flour and corn in it than crab. The flounder dish was blackened with dirty rice, and I opted for a florentine souce on it. Florentine sauce was a white sauce poured over leaves of raw spinach; so much of it that it covered the whole flounder. When I took the first bite of the flounder it was very spicy, the second bite was extremely salty and next bites were without taste. I made a comment to the waitress and she said that if the chef is too busy sometimes he grabs too much of the seasoning and put it on the fish.. Well we laughed it off and we accepted that it must be a regional cuisine. My wife ordered a shrimp dish, a broiled shimp but it was broiled on on side only; the second one was completely raw. She left the shrimp on the plate and the waiter took it away after a comment how ugly that tasted. There was no apology or any offer made from the restaurant. We paid, left a good tip, but we will not go back. The place is not worth it. For $35 a head we can get much better meals at any fast food place..

We went to Docs Seafood and Steaks restaurant in Corpus Christi Texas several times during our first visit to Corpus ever. I say several times because we were in Corpus for a week and we loved Doc’s so much from the very beginning. Everyone there.. Phil *ghost rider* Charles *loving father* Ty *the manager* the fella that was a musician....and everyone else that we didn’t get a chance to meet on a name basis were all friendly, helpful and interesting. Like a Cheers episode where everybody knows your name except that no scriptwriters are involved.. We could tell that all staff enjoyed working there and with each other. It was very refreshing. The bread is spectacular and the salads are so fresh. We enjoyed the blackened flounder and dirty rice as well and they can make a real mean bloody mary. One evening we realized we had left our credit card there but didn’t worry because we had already planned to stop by the next day for lunch anyway...where they pleasantly had our card waiting. The location, regardless of the view from the freeway is gorgeous. During certain times you can view the pelicans feeding. Seemingly all the windows facing the bay are either open air or glass and are open 99.5 days out of the year. I also really liked the hand salts they provide for use in the women's restroom which they offer for sale. We really enjoyed our time at Doc’s Seafood and Steaks restaurant.
