“Enjoyed the Gulf”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

A little seaweed and debris, but other than that we enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach! I was able to swim for a bit, and the breeze felt great. The beach also wasn't crowded.

“Huge Park, where is the end?”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

Very nice beach. Want to drive 55 miles at 15mph on beach accessible with 4 wheel drive to get to end of beach? Kinda of a long distance to travel. You can only drive to mile post 5 with two wheel drive vehicles. But Malaquite Beach to mile post 5 seem to be the busiest as they are the most accessible. Wish I would have gotten four wheel drive rental car to drive entire beach to see less populated sections of beach. Malaquite Beach is located near visitors center with bath house with restrooms, and convenience store. Malaquite Beach was clean of trash, but south of malaquite beach you notice how all the trash washes ashore from the gulf as noted in visitors center.

“Neverending beaches”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

If you like a perfectly quiet place far from civilization yet accessible by car, and you don't mind getting sand into your hair, try the Malaquite Beach National Seashore.
Miles and miles of pristine beaches of the Gulf ("pristine" = ocasional seaweed and you are responsible about where you swim ). Sand dunes with waving grass and ocasional wildflowers, sea birds, ocassional turtles, mullet fish jumping out of water, a patrol of about 15 brown pelicans flying over your head in their non-perfect formation at least once an hour. Basic amenities are available, fresh water showers, small info/souvenir shop, campsites if you want to stay overnight. No hotels, gas stations or restaurants, just you and the nature.
Just don't share this info with too many people so we can keep this pretty place from turning into a Disneyland
:-)

Went to Corpus for a week to visit a friend and decided to take this drive while he was at work. Definetly worth the drive. Awesome coast line with lots to do.
