“Must see!”

Great value for the family. Warning the gift shop is extremely over priced. The dolphin show is great, jellyfish are so pretty glowing in dark room, touch and feed the stingrays. Bring your camera plenty of great pictures to take. Great view of the USS Lexington, too.

“A good place to take kids but not spectacular for adults”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

We visited on a Saturday and the aquarium was very crowded. Tried to see the dolphin show and could not get any where near close enough to the venue. The exhibits are limited as compared with many others we have been to, go to Galveston if you are in Houston. They do have a kids water playground shown in the photo which was being well used. The staff was helpful and knowledgable, they told us it will be expanded next year.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

We found this to be a great place for a family with children to spend the majority of a day. Aside from the usual fish tanks (it's an aquarium after all), this place offers several shows and a few "hands-on sea life" experiences. The dolphin show was a hit with the kids, and being able to touch a stingray, an urchin or a crab is something they still talk about. There also is an outdoor splash pad that can entertain kids for a long time, but you may want to bring some dry clothes. There are lockers (fee) and changing facilities (free). My only criticism are the high concession prices. Is that really necessary? (<-- rhetorical question).
P.S. The aquarium is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and you be eligible for a discount on admission if you are a member at your local zoo or aquarium.

“How fun! It's totally worth the price!”

We even got coupons from our hotel for $2 off. Loved the dolphin show, the shark petting, and the sea turtles, but most of all, the new splash pad is awesome! What a nice way for the kids to cool down after all that walking!

“Great place”

Found some discount coupons for area attractions and let my kids decide what they wanted to do. The Texas State Aquarium was great! The kids just loved the shows and being able to interact up close with marine wildlife was awesome
