Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. Very kid friendly place. Well maintained, nice staff, great exhibits and good value. We really enjoyed it and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the place. Good dolphin show, reasonable gift shop and on site drinks & food. Nice splash park for little ones <5yrs.

$17 is a bit steep for what you can see and do there. I have been to many aquariums around the world and this one is quite small. They need more shade especially at the dolphin show.

Came here with two grown kids and had the time of our lives. Spent the entire day going to shows. The new bird show is a must see.

It is a great value for the price. You do have to make sure you get a brochure so you can find out what time the shows are. They have back to back shows so you will stay busy. The dolphin show is great. There are a lot of exhibits to see. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and cool clothing. You will have to walk quite a bit and a lot of the exhibits are outside.

The aquarium is a great place to see, but it cost our family $62.50 ($2.50 for a parking token to get out of the lot) and we completed the visit within 1.5 hours on a Tuesday afternoon. We wanted to see the Dolphin show, and happened to show up an hour beforehand & it was already packed (they recommended showing up 20 minutes before the show for the "best seating"). We stood in the back, and had people stuffed all around us. The show lasted 15 minutes and it was entertaining, but they should consider offering it more than a few times a day. Be sure to park under the bridge, other parking is $5.00. Parking fee is not an option by the way.
