“Great Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

The margarita I got was really good. We went in with a group of 9 on a Friday evening and no reservation. They accommodated us immediately. The service was friendly and fast. My son and I both ordered Chicken Fried Steak and they brought out a plate with a Chicken fried steak the size of Rhode Island. We are hearty eaters but had to get a "to-go" box. Great food and relaxed atmosphere. A little pricey, but not bad considering the value we received. Highly recommend this restaurant.

“What fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

First, service by Sean is exemplary (we never met him before). He has good suggestions and is on top of everything, even when all his tables are full. The "O" appetizers are plentiful and the best we've eaten anywhere -- the accompanying seafood sauce is unusual and splendid. The hobo fries, a mixture of white and sweet potatoes, add variety and interest to meals. Even the off-putting idea of broccoli slaw turns out to be a welcome addition of taste and texture to the fare. The food is good, very good! It is a big bright noisy barn with a Texas feeling. It's location downtown and near the American Banking Center is handy.

“Great seafood and salads; usually good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

We have eaten here on probably seven to eight occasions while in the area. Although we had attended a large family gathering here before, today's group of 31 was the larger group. Always a challenge to serve this many people without a hitch, today's problem was that the restaurant was not ready for us as had been prearranged. Even though it was only late afternoon and the restaurant certainly was not very busy, our group waited for over an hour before they started setting up our tables. Once we were seated, our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Always we have had consistently good seafood. We have never had a poorly-prepared dish whether it be seafood, French-fried potato and sweet potato sticks, or the fresh and interesting salads. The food was served family-style and was brought out on multiple platters and laid on the tables one after another. We had only one server, but amazingly she did a good job once we got going. I am sure that we will return here every time we are visiting in the area. A bonus: it is located only a couple of blocks from the bayfront area close to most of the tourist attractions. It is an interesting and lovely area near the downtown. Make your way here and it will be worth your visit. And, by the way, there is ample parking in the rear.

Great seafood. Can order family style. Great tasting shrimp and catfish. Great salads. Have a bar with various drinks types. Pricing is reasonable.

“Three out of four”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

We walked in without reservations on a busy Friday night. The place as hopping (it had been recommended by a local resident) and we were quickly seated. He wait staff was harried and it took some time to get our order in and more time to be served. But, you expect to wait for good food. Three out of our party of four were very pleased with their meals. When we got the order, two of the meals were not right. The server who brought the food to our table set the completed dishes out for two of us and then went to get our waitress. That's when things began to slow down. It would have been no big deal if the server had simply taken responsibility and corrected the order. Instead, two of us waited. And waited, Finally, the waitress returned and advised that one meal was simply incomplete, the salad had not been ready. I advised that I had ordered shrimp and gotten fish. The waitress told me she would have the situation corrected shortly. In fact, the other party's salad came later and there was still no sign of my meal. Finally, as the other members of our party of four were finishing their meals, my dish came. The shrimp and the potatoes had been allowed to cool. The broccoli treated cole slaw was cold (as it should be) and absolutely delicious. It may be the best slaw I have ever eaten. The entree was a big disappointment. The other members of the party were delighted with their meals. One said it was the best seafood since his last visit to the Chesapeake Bay.
