“Close to Oregon Caves National Monument”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

We spent two nights in a cabin unit with a single king size bed. The property is mostly a campground for tents and RVs. The property is well maintained. Breakfast is available for a fee, ice cream store on-site and a coin operated laundry room is available. The drive to Oregon Caves is about 20-25 minutes and the drive in the oposite direction to Cave Junction is about 15 minutes. Restaurants and grocery stores are in Cave Junction. We were disappointed with the cooking utensils as well as the pots and pans ... many of these simply needed to be replaced. The cabins are rustic and about 50 years old. The managers of the property were pleasant and responsive to our needs. We would stay here again.

A really fun place to stay, with only a few draw backs.... We rented the biggest cabin they had, which supposedly slept six (leading to the first problem). Small kitchen, decent bathroom, two full sized beds in back. The owner was super helpful and nice. Problem #1, as stated above: the hide a bed couch was SO uncomfortable that even our kids hated it. Spend a few bucks and replace the mattress! Problem #2: cabin needed to be a lil cleaner. Lots of evidence of previous renters.

Anyway, the whole point was quick access to the caves, which is what we came for. If I went back to the caves, I would definitely give them another stay.

I stayed here one night with my 3 kids, ages 5-14. We really liked it -- the kids were sad to leave. We stayed in one of the large cabins, with living room, kitchen, bathroom & bedroom. The kitchen was convenient, the living room comfortable, and the beds were nice. The bathroom was a bit "rustic," especially the shower. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations, go elsewhere: this place reminded me my grandmother's summer camp -- funky and rough around the edges, but we all loved staying there.

The sleep sofa had the least comfortable mattress I've ever encountered on one of these contraptions, and that's saying a lot. I made the little kids sleep there, and they seemed to enjoy it -- no complaints in the morning, anyway.

We really enjoyed taking walks through the grounds and playing in the creek. The ice cream "parlor" was a nice surprise. We will stay here again.

Note: I never found even 1 bar of cell phone service on my AT+T phone, which might be considered a plus if one wants to get away from it all....

This is a very clean older style motel with the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in--including those in pricey high end hotels. Add to that the fact that they have direct TV and WiFi for a very reasonable rate, and that they are the closest motel/cabin accommodations to Oregon Caves. This place is a winner.
