I was disappointed with our stay at the Peery Hotel. The Hotel is quaint but tired. It smelled like an old building and there amenities were limited. Our room was OK however, the bathroom was "tiny". I literally would sit on the toilet and bump my head on the sink. You could brush your teeth, shower, and use the toilet, standing in place. I have never seen anything like it. You have to pay public parking and leave your car exposed to the elements. They do have Temperpedic beds and we slept well. Overall, I would not stay there again.

Lovely old fashioned hotel in a good location in Salt Lake City. Good room, though bathroom was small but bed was about the best we have ever had.

Parking is in the public car park directly next to the hotel. Remember to pay for 24 hours - $10 as you get a $25 ticket if you don't!

A renovated older hotel, tastefulkly decorated, with a friendly staff (who upgraded us to a suite because of our anniversary), and just across the street from a dandy brew pub/restaurant. Closde to all the city center attractions. Beats the heck out of the antiosp[etic mainline hotels.

Stayed at the Peery earlier this week on my first trip to SLC. A charming building within walking distance to the convention centre, lots of bars and restaurants, shopping and the temple. The rooms are on the small side with truly tiny bathrooms, but it's more than made up for with great service and a friendly staff. No fitness centre and limited room service options but the wi-fi is reliable and the beds clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again.

This is a nice place, a fine old building on the national historic registry. The lobby is splendid, with coffee, lemon-infused ice water and lots of comfortable chairs and sofas. We checked in and got a room that was much too small for two. It was hard to put two suitcases down, and the basin and toilet in the tiny bathroom were so close that a large person could have trouble using the latter. We were moved to a larger room, which was fine and comfortable. There was a great roar early in the morning, unfortunately, from someone nearby taking a shower. The location is terrific for downtown SLC attractions. Parking is not included, but there are easy and more reasonable alternatives to the hotel's $12/day valet plan. Person at the desk explained these.

We have stayed at the Peery Hotel a few times, most recently March, 2012. It is convenient to downtown restaurants, arts, shopping, and the interstate to get to the slopes! Every one we had contact with at the hotel was friendly and helpful, from the bellman/greeter, check-in staff, housekeeping to the maintenance man (OOPS! I pulled too hard and broke the shade). Thank you for a wonderful experience. The new bar had just opened and we learned that breakfast would be offered soon. I enjoyed the coffee station every morning. Thanks for everything!

Room Tip: Some bathrooms are smaller than others. We had a double room but the bath was small. Some others co...

Things to know before you go:
Parking is $10 (public) $12 (valet) per day.
Don't stay in the back of the hotel-HVAC makes it rumble all night.
Sheets were old, very tired. Both nights, both times the sheets had holes in them. The down comforter is only a down blanket. And no triple sheeting-just one thin pilled sheet. The extra blanket was a static charged, gummy-yes gummy-feeling piece of 'fabric'.
Had to ask for coffee maker in the room-read online about Starbuck's for in-room coffee. Got 1 Farmer's Bros packet and no refills with morning room make up.
Furniture is not "period" except that it is ugly period. Felt like it was old motel furniture hand me downs. Had to keep the thermostat up to 75 to keep the room comfortable (in April)-and that is not normal for us. The tub had been resurfaced-that was peeling off. The water barely came out and the shower head is so low that we had to kneel down to get washed. The sink is in the room not bedroom-and that is great, not a problem. The faucet was stiff and sink slow draining. The TempuPedic bed was terrible-it had a body shadow in it so we had to make sure to sleep on the opposite side of the bed. The room decor was just awful.
Staff was nice but sloppy-they were kids more interested in their i-pods and whatnot than their customers. And their dress/grooming left lots to be desired.
I was so disappointed...I was looking forward to the hotel. The picures and such made me very excited. I like the older hotels so this is not the issue. I will never stay at this one again.

Room Tip: Don't go here
