“Excellent budget-friendly hotel”
Reviewed May 14, 2012 via mobile

I was in Salt Lake City for a conference and chose to stay at is affordable hotel based on reviews from other travelers. This hotel really exceeded my expectations all around.

For those flying into Salt Lake City, the hotel offers a free airport shuttle, which cut the overall cost of my trip, too.

The hotel is within walking distance from downtown, and it is close to public transportation, too. I really liked the variety and quality of the breakfast they served. Every morning had something different to offer (eggs, French toast, pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit, juice, cereal)--there's a little something for everyone, and the quality is better than what I have found in other hotels. I had a room with a king size bed, sitting area, desk, fridge, and microwave. Housekeeping does a great job keeping the rooms clean and tidy!

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay if you're on a budget, and I will stay here again next time I travel to Salt Lake City.

Rooms are about average, breakfast above average and locaton is great. Salt Lake City is very walkable and has decent public transit.

Our family travels a lot, so I've grown used to certain realities that come with staying at hotels. One reality is that the bed is never really all that comfortable, and I always take my own pillow. On our most recent visit to Salt Lake City, however, I forgot to take my pillow. Much to my surprise, not only were the pillows comfortable, but the bed itself was so comfortable that for the first time ever, I actually slept through the night at a hotel, awaking well-rested the next morning. That NEVER happens! The experience was topped off with an excellent breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, cereals, assorted bakery items, and an ample variety of hot and cold breakfast beverages. An excellent hotel and yes, we have every intention of staying here again, the next time we're in town.

We were going with family on a trip and stayed here to be able to leave early from the airport, and to get a ride back. This place was wonderful. The rooms were huge, the beds super comfy and the breakfast amazing. Oh, and the ride to and from the airport was prompt, comfy, and door to door in a timely manner. They let us leave the car in the lot for the week, and it saved us a bundle. We did not check out the pool or rec area. But I might next time, because it was THAT nice.

Our family planned to stay in a cheaper hotel in SLC but splurged a little to stay with our niece and her family who wanted an indoor pool. The buffet breakfast made up for the extra cost as it was fabulous! Breakfast included eggs, thick sausages, hash browns, fresh fruit bowl, yogurt, french toast, 4 kinds of syrup including sugar free, muffins, bread, oatmeal with a variety of add ins and toppings, cold cereal, 3 choices of juice ... including guava orange passion, herbal teas, 2 kinds of milk, etc.. We enjoyed it.
The room was spacious and clean. The bedding was clean and high quality. There was a couch, microwave and refrigerator in the room besides 2 queen beds. It was very quiet. The towels were very thick and white. I don't think I have ever seen thicker towels anywhere else. The only thing they could have done better with is the TP... a little thin for the surrounding high quality. The location was convenient to downtown SLC and temple square- which we visited. We were able to hear the Spoken word as it was broadcast with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at 9:30 Sunday morning. It was FREE, and a great treat. You have to be in your seats at 9:15 and children must be 8 years or older. We also enjoyed the free museum across the street from Temple Square. It had lots of hands on things for the kids and even the adults enjoyed donning costumes and trying a Mexican dance.
The hotel staff worked well with us and was going to let my husband take the shuttle even though it was after check out time. Our older boys enjoyed the pool with their young cousins. All in all, a great hotel! We would go there again.

Room Tip: I was told to get a room away from the smoking part of the hotel. We didn't smell any smoke and...

The staff were extremely helpful. They were quick to help give directions to the "Trax" (light rail transit) so we didn't have to drive around downtown SLC. Our room was reasonably priced, clean and spacious. The lobby was under renovations, but that didn't have any impact on our stay; there was no noise or mess. Despite the fact that the hotel was full to the rafters, staff were so hospitable.
