This is hotel is getting a little long in the tooth. Smells musty like my grandmas house when I was a kid until you get the AC going. Overall, though, it is a nice facility with a restaurant right next door and excellent food.

The rooms are a good size. Nothing fancy. Good location. LDS family history library is on the same street.

Think about staying someplace else if you're going to Salt Lake for the Deseret News Marathon. The Pioneer Day parade is happening the same day as the marathon and they line up in front of the hotel. The front desk needs to be inserviced on what to tell guests about how to access the hotel that day. A shrug of the shoulders and an "I don't know, you might not be able to" is not acceptable. And if you think you might be a bit late getting back to the hotel (for checkout time) from the marathon finish, because of the parade traffic, you will get no empathy from Supervisor Shila, who, by the way, was late to work because of said traffic! Housekeeping was great.

At the very last minute we went into The Plaza Hotel needing a room. We were very lucky to get one. The price was reasonable. The location was the VERY BEST! It is on the West Side on Temple Square! In front of the hotel was a stop for the Free Tram. The view was great, we were on the 7th floor. It is really close to the airport. There is a on site resturant, sorry but we didn't get to try it.

Warning- they have parking for $5 a day but you might not can use it. We drove a few blocks to shop and when we returned- lot was FULL. They rent out spaces for nearby events and do NOT have separate reserved spaces for hotel guests.

But other than this, was excellent! Check in was fast, they have a store but it closes early. So if you like a late night snack, bring it to the hotel.

Location was perfect. Right next to Temple Square and the JSMemorial Bldg- The Garden and The Roof- great places to dine.
