“Flawless”

I expect a certain level of comfort from Hilton Garden Inns and this one sure did deliver everything expected and more. The staff is what really sets this particular Garden Inn apart from the others. They were not only helpful, but friendly, as well. They treated us like family from the start.

We were in a suite that was huge and beautifully decorated. It couldn't have been more comfortable and quiet. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained.

The hotel's restaurant has a much more extensive menu than most Garden Inns. They even have Eggs Benedict on the all-inclusive breakfast menu. The dinner menu is just as plentiful. We ate three breakfasts and dinners at the hotel and all of them were excellent and reasonably priced. The service in the restaurant was just as friendly as at the front desk.

The location is on the south side of the city in an industrial area that is being redeveloped, so it isn't the most picturesque area. Access from I-15 is very easy and The Gateway shopping center is just around the block. We didn't see any homeless people in the immediately vicinity of the hotel, but they are everywhere in the park a block or so away. In any case, they didn't bother anybody, they are just there like they are in any big city. There is a Starbucks in the parking lot and more restaurants up the street among a row of other hotels.

This hotel is clearly the nicest of all in the immediate area and it has to have the best staff around. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again without hesitation.

My husband and I recently stayed here two weekends in a row. We believe this hotel truly is the best hotel in Salt Lake City. The staff is professional, friendly, and knowledgable, and when we had a minor room assignment error, it was resolved beyond our expectations. The beds are comfortable, the room layouts are smart, the decor is soothing and up-to-date. The hotel location is great. Free parking, a few blocks to the nearest TRAX (public transportation) stop, and walking distance to EnergySolutions Arena. We will stay here again!!!

Very happy with our stay here. Room quality and cleanliness and front desk staff top notch. We had a suite with a separate bedroom and really like the hotel which has a nice lounge area and Starbucks next door. A couple of downsides - bit of a walk to the UTA Trax tram stop (OK for us, but might be an issue to some) and also quite a few homeless people in the area - this has been mentioned in other reviews for hotels in the same area, so not specific to this hotel. Overall a great stay.

I stayed at this Hilton on a recent business trip to SLC. First the good points - it is very well-situated right in downtown SLC. It is just a short drive back to the interstate, and a quick hop over to the airport. So, the location is great for an out-of-town'r. This hotel also has a Starbucks right in its parking lot, which I thought was awesome - even if not by-design. The interior is clean and comfortable, and the staff here is very friendly and accomodating. So, the cleanliness, service, location and value were all noteworthy. Now the bad stuff. I ordered room service - a ribeye steak with a salad. It was the most disgusting meal I have attempted to eat in quite some time. I couldn't even finish 1/3 of it. The steak was a thinly-cut ribeye, full of fat and grill-mess taste. I was expecting a "ribeye", but this cut of meat was the worst I have ever seen in my life. It tasted foul, looked aweful, and when I attempted to tear into it with my knife & fork, it was a stringy mess of tendon, fat and char bits from the grill. To say "awweful meal" is an understatement, and what's worse is it cost me $29. Do yourself a favor and do not eat at this hotel - it is so bad that it will sour the rest of the experience. As for the rooms, they are really poorly-designed. For a business traveller, I need a desk to work at with my laptop. They have a desk, but the desk lamp is so bright, and there is a mirror right in front of the desk, so the excessively bright light shines right in your eyes from all angles while you're trying to work. It only took a few minutes for me to start getting a headache from this, so I had to work without a desklamp. What a poorly-thought out desk setup that was. Also, I stayed on the 3rd floor, so I had to take the elevator up & down. There is no sign when you get out of the elevator on the 1st floor telling you which way to turn to get to the front desk/exit. So, as you walk out of the elevator, you can easily get lost. So my review is mixed. The hotel was certainly clean, priced-right and had a stellar & truly-convenient location with a friendly staff, but the food delivered to me in my room was not even fit to be fed to my pets, and the desk arrangement made trying to do work in my hotel room nearly impossible due to a poorly-designed desk lamp arrangement, with a mirror right in front of the desk to blind you as you're trying to work. So, if you don't need to work in the room and you plan to eat somewhere besides the hotel, this place is a great pick. But, if you need to work in the room and plan to hole-up and eat-in, then this place is a very poor choice and I suggest you stay elsewhere.

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights from January 8th - January 11th 2010. The price was right and the location ... is great, especially to the Gateway and Energy Solutions Arena. The Hotel is quiet and very clean. It is also very modern with amenities you would pay extra for, like a fridge, microwave and in-room coffee pot. The shower is a tiled shower (no bathtub) which is great for us! Housekeeping made our room up each day, and the room came with a 42" lcd tv. The cable was basic, however it did come with HBO. For the money, this hotel is a wonderful place to stay simply for the clean factor if nothing else. Why pay more if all you need is a bed? Speaking of the bed, we had a king bed and it had the foam topper. It feels really good to sit on, however it does tend to sag by morning. I think they took regular beds and added the topper to extend the life of the bed. Still, it is better then sleeping on an old bed! There is an onsite restaurant and a small shop for snacks and misc items. The staff was friendly, parking was free and did I mention it was clean? Would recommend and stay there again!

This is a great Hilton Garden Inn. It's clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The indoor swimming pool is larger than most Garden Inns and is very nice. The fitness room is also surprisingly large and well equipped. The location is convenient to downtown businesses and attractions plus it offers very east on-and-off access to the interstate. The staff is extremely friendly. I've stayed here twice in the past couple of months and enjoyed both of my stays.
