“sampled the rehearsal - worth the effort”

it was a full blown rehearsal, with the conductor stopping the music/choir in middle of song to point out whatever it is that conductors like to critique. Also, got to see the inside of the LDS conference center. Massive! Everything was immaculate. And, while the vast number of "greeters" were stationed every few yards, they seemed very guarded - but friendly, and very eager to accommodate your every need. The security to get in was second only to what you experience at airports.

It is a great experience to see the Temple grounds and hear the choir rehearse. It was my second time, having attended a rehearsal several years ago.

We arrived in town just as the Choir was about to leave for a national tour. We were lucky enough to catch the dress rehearsal before they left. We were blown away.
We sat in the lower section just off to the side. The music and movements were so well coordinated and moving. Definitely a must see if you have the chance.

While it was very crowded, the crowd control was quite good. Get there early to get the best seats. Friends sat in the balcony and found it to be very hot.

The orchestra and choir were absolutely beautiful. Nothing to dislike. Try to get there early for a good seat and it is free.

A friend and I were going to try to get in on standby for the Saturday night concert. Some folks on the train overheard us talking about it and offered us their extra tickets. We sat in the balcony at the Conference Center and were blown away by the Choir and the Orchestra. I highly recommend trying to hear the Choir in person if you are in SLC. They have open rehearsals on most Thursday evenings.
