“Forget Romanelli! viva Valter!”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

It hasn't ever mattered how busy Valter's is, they still find a spot for us -- and bring us great food. We live in Park City, but for a nice italian meal, heading down to SLC is a no brainer. Valter's buzzes with good cheer. The pasta is perfect, the specials have imagination and the service is first rate. And Valter. How places do you go these days where the owner/chef show as much love and passion for his place, night after night.

“Fantastico!”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

If you are looking for a true "dining" experience, Valter's is the place to go! We were treated to a four course meal that included a delicious salad trio, pasta sampler, entree and dessert. The bread is out of this world and so is the garlic/olive oil for dipping! The food is of great quality and the atmosphere feels very authentic. I will definitely be going back the next time I'm in Salt Lake City!

“Delicious, but beware!”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

Food was delicious, but taxi ride home was scary! Asked our waitress to call for a cab. Driver was the most careless of our whole week here and then tried to rip us off. We've been here for days, every ride downtown was right around $5 and change. Scary polish guy in unmarked cab with no meter tried to charge us $25! When we complained, he dropped to $12, which we paid and he sped off. Calls to restaurant and police, so far no response, now we are scared.

“Amazing food and service”
Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

Amazing food and great atmosphere! Our wait staff suggested that we go for a more communal approach with our party, which sounded fun, but as someone one with food allergies didn't see how that was going to work! When we explained our issue the staff went above and beyond to make sure that our experience was unforgettable. I felt like I was being pampered the whole evening and can't wait to return!

The perfect Italian restaurant. I've eaten at the finest Italian restaurants in New York and Italy and yet to find one that I prefer over Valter's Osteria.
