The scenery is wonderful, but the road is a bit winding and not the widest. It would be ok for a small RV, but the bigger and longer rigs will cause the people on the road behind you to cuss at you a bit. There are turn-outs, etc. Lots of picnic areas and some camping spots. The ski resorts have year-round activities. And it's 10-20 degrees cooler than in the valley.

I love the canyons. I love how close they are to my home. I love how I can drive up them, park and within a few short hours of hiking I am alone and solitary. Amazing! just one tip, go during the week. go early and just be nice if you see others around.

I've been to Big Cottonwood Canyon and to Little Cottonwood Canyon and it always seems to me that Little Cottonwood Canyon is bigger than Big Cottonwood Canyon.

This Canyon is beautiful. Fun to see the trees green up in the spring. In the summer, it is great for a hike, bbq or just for a drive. The fall is the best with the foliage. Then the winter with a blanket of snow is yet another beautiful experience. All leads to the ski resorts and what is offered there.

Amazing tall mountains with huge rock walls made of interesting formations. Whole drive is accompanied by a raging river. At the top one can cross Guardsman's Pass and continue on to Park City. Doesn't get any better than this
